I was speaking with somebody from Romec today and they said they didn't receive a ballot? Is this correct?

Will engineers/romec be joining the strike?

Romec are separate. Haven't they striked over some other issues over the years I recall.

I think will boil down to the Posties mate. We all know some people will do Overtime despite CWU requests. IF every Postie simply said "No Thanks to the Overtime.... Oh and by the way I'll be finishing at my contracted time" it would certainly prove a point.

It will not happen mate. What you say is true but RM are quite happy with the current Posties doing lots of overtime.... rather than recruit more staff. A few reasons:

1) Savings on Holiday (you don't get any extra despite the amount of overtime some people do, unless you buy it).

2) National Insurance payments (they'd have to pay them for additional staff).

3) Sick Pay (apparently the big winner for RM as they're unhappy with the existing level of sickness).

4) Our Overtime Rate is CRAP (so it's not really hitting them in the pocket).

I agree that if we all did less overtime ( I know colleagues that regularly do 20 hours OT a week) it would probably be better for us all in the long run. We might even persuade RM to pay overtime at Time & A Half!

Even when I started it was only time 1.45 and that was along time ago cannot see it happening more chance of a 35 hour week than that.

Your views are the same as Royal Mails views and nobody's ear has been closed to it day in day out in every office for the last 2 months so they are not dissenting views they are the predominant view and that predominant view has failed to convince a majority.

Okay. Back to my original comment about the man who thinks he will strike in the face of a judge telling him it is unlawful. As absolutely none of you have addressed it and only attack me personally. (And you call me a troll) If you strike in the face of an injunction RM would be within there right to dismiss you. Also, you could be held in contempt of court.

My opinion clearly is not the prominent one here or anywhere else in the company hence it is descentting. Also, I really do not see what my gender has to do with anything. Using the condacending term “sweetheart” really does show the type of person you are.

You give it a try. See how far it gets you. Iv just been reading the thread associated with this and they went back to work without an immediate resolution? unless you know more? Why did they go back in? It mentioned the DOM would be monitored. Are they still in post?
