You do not lose pay if you are on leave, and if you are sick as well...if anyone else is interested.

Have been told there's no o/time on a strike week. As it's Fri/Sat that won't affect us too much. Wonder if RM will continue it onto the next week.

so in my office where we are forced to take all of our walk and not allowed to finish on our time.
where do i stand?
can i have stuff off that day?
we have to take walk logs and write everything down and then they take it off you if you finish early saturday(which with me having 400-500 houses more than the walks that join onto mine is the only day i might get an early finish)

walk fairness is a huge issue with me,management are causing huge issues that are covered up.
why have a park and loop set finsihing on time or going over with 1500 houses (plus lapsing) and walks that join on with 950 and 1020 houses are back an hour before there time,yet refuse to fix.

im glad there all for fairness though

You won't be working Fri/Sat so won't matter. On the Thu you will be finishing on you're time as you won't get paid if you go over. Rest of the week or the next week, will need some clarification from CWU.

Hi a question about the probation period for new starter and strike.
this is a concern for me and another new starter who just started in may.
Myself I started end of October last year and the strike dates 19th won't be a completed 12 months with Royal mail unless the probation is 6 months.
Does anyone have any information on this regarding new starters and probation while striking.

I am 99.9% sure that any disciplinary action taken against you if you strike is unlawful, contrary to any BS management might try to tell you in order to pressure you into working through the strike action. And membership of the Union is not necessary either, although is probably advisable if you are a new starter during these tumultuous times.

Any start / finish time the CWU Executive choose for Industrial Action* is always going to have different losses of pay for different individual members. This can't be avoided when you have so many duty patterns in place in deliveries, MCs and even RDCs. If a second wave of strikes becomes necessary, one would hope that for the sake of 'sharing the load' (in terms of pay lost), an 11pm commencement point would be picked, so that those who lose more pay than others THIS time, would see the reverse scenario next time.
Personally, I know that when I voted YES on that ballot paper, I would be called on to lose money. I'm not going to get all bitter and twisted about some people losing a bit less than I do. We have to stand together or we're all f***ed !!!

It just occurred to me that as a person on a 4-day duty, I'll lose 50% of my wages that week. Others on 5 days will lose 40% BUT THAT'S IMMATERIAL. If we don't stand up for ourselves now, and stand in solidarity, the amount of earnings and pension we'll ALL lose in the future makes a couple of days pay look a tiny sacrifice in comparison !!!

*always tickles me, that phrase. Industrial Inaction is what we'll be giving RM
