use of private cars

DOMs must love you lot!!!! if you stop useing your cars the job would not get done on time, yes i know it will be harder for you but it would be a big headake for the DOM, geting you to the start of your duty, bag drops ect, then you would be late back and it would knock on. So leave your cars at home, do the job right avd it will pay off in the long run

To be honest on here you are preaching to the converted. Those that have not stopped using their own cars will when flexibility comes in because when they have finished their round and go back - they will be given another bag to complete. Then they'll turn round to us who are doing it right, and say "this is wrong help me" and it will be too late.

The problem is TBT loads who persist in using their own cars in our office NEVER return to the DO after their delivery anyway!!!! Providing you can get your mate on an adjacent walk to drop any non delivery items back you are ok... Everyone will soon be returning back to the depot within 2 mins of their finishing time and the local cafes, arcades and libraries will be awash in a sea of fluorescent jackets :cuppa As for the extra bag to be delivered :wave

Don't kiddykid yourself! We will soon be issued with new 'scanners' for specials and recordeds. We will have to return them to the DO at the end of the walk. Don't forget that managers 'Patrol'. Flexibility means that 'panickers' will have to join us in doing the job right. Only trouble is that we need the pr**s to be doing it NOW!!!!!!!! :cfo :lfo

Why don't people just do the jobs they get paid to do the way that they are supposed to?

I think a couple of people have already mentioned that it is this 'Job and Finish' culture that is driving people to come in early, to use their cars and to run around as if their life depended on it.

I too once used my car, but found that I was rushing about even more. Nowadays, I just come in to work about 5 or 10 minutes early and just get on with the job. There's no way that I'm going to give them (RM) fuggers my time -- no fugging way.

Incidentally, we are -- in our orifice, not allowed to break or cut off. We are instead told to take out what we can; meaning, we cover all our walks, but still leave work that we feel we cannot complete in the time given.
We posties do things differently, but we still get shot at!

Our (other) men and women deserve a little more... http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/

I have to apologise guys as i am one of the faithfully converted..my rep always used to bang on at me about my carving up my walk, returning so early i watched the kids going to school, dripping in blood, sweat and tears...then the I/A started i realised just what a complete MUG! i had been to myself and my buddies..now i'm generally one of the last back every day,i preach to my workmates about doing the job properly..(and yes..i do occasionally get branded hypocritical) and i have had more than one "heated" discussion with the dom regarding my new found change of heart..it is hard seeing the others go home early when you know you can do the job twice as fast as they do...but i refuse!! to slip back in to my old ways and give the managers just cause to further destroy the job which i enjoy so much..so my words to the speed demons are thus...IF I CAN DO IT...SO CAN YOU!!!!!!!! stop running about and have a :cuppa :cuppa :cuppa
if you aint payin..the mails stayin!!!
