Because that's going to convince them to do otherwise? It's like Clinton calling Trump supporters 'a basket of deplorables', it might go down well with those already thinking that but it's hardly likely to win over those who are opposed. Why not just be civil. Or like my gran said, if you can't say something polite, say nothing. All this abuse and vitriol is typical of strikes in the 80s (and they went so well . . .), I'm all in favour of striking but I can't condone abuse, it's not smart or clever - it's not even witty - and it won't help us win.

You can't call them strike breakers because RM have suspended and even sacked people on previous strikes for doing so. Bristol 5 if I remember correctly.

Actually, I prefer the Breakfast Club name.

Excuse me for being thick as ive never experienced a strike before but what happens after the 48hr strike? Do we just go back to work as normal and then still have a rubbish pension deal or is this normally first of a few strikes until they listen? Also does the union pay us (pro rata??)

After the strike work as normal the thing about strikes is it forces the hand of the employer from one of oppression to a more conciliatory one and you me and everyone else gets a better deal as for the union paying you what planet are you living on, Yes you will lose pay in the short term but in the long run you will win big time with better pay pensions and terms of employment!

If it’s 48hrs and starts on a Thursday then when you go back in on Saturday it will be rather busy is my guess and you’ve lost 2 days pay.

IF you're in deliveries you'll be back on Monday. Yes there will be lots to do. Yes you will have lost pay.

There is more to gain in future by doing this though, don't you agree?

If you don't agree, then just be a strike-breaker and live with that. Get the pay and ignore the bigger picture.

I couldn't do that myself, but I've worked extra hours recently and made personal cutbacks specifically to prepare for a personal strike fund.

Ok. So it will be very busy Monday then. And you’d have lost pay. I support what is going on but think the company is going to get its way in the end. I’ve been through this before with another very large well known company that I had worked for for 24 years. In the end we were T U P E’d then made redundant. This is all making me feel like that again. That was 8 1/2 years ago.

Angard staff can't drive our vehicles, even if mail gets through who from angard is going to sort it, even if some one can sort the mechanical mail how many angard staff will know that &@@£&@ Street is on xxxxx delivery round, or which round all the packets are on. You might think these angard adverts are designed to scare a few people, you may also think even with hundreds of angard staff IF they cross the picket line, that it will be comedy chaos trying to sort the mail let alone deliver it.
IMO RM stand to lose more than we do unless they wise up quick and give us a much better deal. IMO We may not get everything we want and deserve but we will get a much better deal as a result of this vote.

Angard's website states 'fixed term contracts with Royal Mail' not Angard Staffing. Looking at one of the jobs advertised the pay rates are for Royal Mail, if you were going to be working for Angard you would be started on minimum wage for the first 12 weeks. Blue Arrow are also advertising delivery jobs https://www.bluearrow.co.uk/jobs?keywords=royal+mail.
