That's deffo not happening. We are not alone with this one. There just isn't the money. It would just simply run out and we'd all be left with NO pensions.feduppostie wrote:I would take no pay rise and my pension protected
controversial maybe but 20 odd years in my pension is my main concern and I stood to lose 3 grand a year under the proposals

We get £60 a yr now if you have a docs note.JKSmudge wrote:No late starts ( working in the dark in winter and the hottest part of the days in summer - how can that be safe ? )
A guaranteed 2% minimum payrise ( inc. RRIS Del Supp etc ) this year and next with no strings attached. Plus framework/formula for future pay negotiations to be sorted BEFORE April each year.
Any productivity increases to be additional to the minimum pay rise.
Pension - not bothered as I'm already on the crap DC scheme ( and knew this when I started ) and they aren't going to improve it much, so it's a waste of time arguing about it - the union rolled over regarding new starters on DC , so that argument was lost long ago.
Agree to trials of 'route ownership' but would have to safeguard extra payments if having to cover absent colleagues - we're not doing extra hours for no pay !
As an aside - how about £90 per year footwear allowance and then RM can shove their crap, ill-fitting shoes and we can actually buy suitable footwear :)

I've 25 years service, 3% payrise to keep up with inflation, best pension solution possible, 3pm finishes for school commitments but will settle to keep on 39 hours as struggle to do job in 39 hours let alone 35 hours

Bring back the bikes!! Employ required amount of drivers for each depot to deal solely with all the parcels. Bring back the old methods basically..the pension isn't the most worrysome issue in all
Honesty I think it's the ownership thing they are talking about it's just franchising worded differently and that's a HUGE worry.

A pension that still gives a wage in retirement even if less generous than the current scheme!
Or you will end up with people retiring blowing their lump sum and 5 years later living on the bread line
One plan out the window and the multi bundle rubbish

Offer all employees the same pension scheme with the same rates of company/employee contributions. WinRS would be preferable but would accept the same 13.6% to all employees even if it meant accepting the DC scheme/Cash DB options rather than WinRS.
Accept that there may be an operational requirement for some duties to have a different shift pattern to cater for a LAT (and later arrival at LDO) for some parcels.
Forget multi-bundling (>2 of which 1 is D2D)
Forget bench merging until RM can present mail sequenced to a way better % than present.
Forget advancing the pipeline any later than current.
Pay rise to be consolidated from 2017 not 2018.

Quite a few people I work with would prefer to work 39 hours rather than 35 hours and don't want a 35 hour working week which I find quite bizarre.gb93 wrote:BeanyTony wrote:I've 25 years service, 3% payrise to keep up with inflation, best pension solution possible, 3pm finishes for school commitments but will settle to keep on 39 hours as struggle to do job in 39 hours let alone 35 hoursSo you prefer to struggle doing the job in 39 hours rather than struggle to do the job in 35 hours

The 35hr week hasn't got a hope in hell of working. All shifts normally goto the wire now apart from the very quietest of days. Take them 4 hours a week out and you'll get lots of failures.milly wrote:Quite a few people I work with would prefer to work 39 hours rather than 35 hours and don't want a 35 hour working week which I find quite bizarre.gb93 wrote:BeanyTony wrote:I've 25 years service, 3% payrise to keep up with inflation, best pension solution possible, 3pm finishes for school commitments but will settle to keep on 39 hours as struggle to do job in 39 hours let alone 35 hoursSo you prefer to struggle doing the job in 39 hours rather than struggle to do the job in 35 hours

This isn't aimed at anyone but why wouldn't anyone want a reduction in their working week?
It makes perfect sense to offset the work done by machines and maintain your full time contract if you have one, also any amount that you can take off the delivery span is very welcome to my tired legs that have according to Royal Mail got to do exactly the same number of years I've already done on delivery all over again 23! So 46 years in total
