How about getting back to good old fashioned customer service and looking after the publics mail and not worrying about profit profit profit all the time go back to two deliveries a day and start having a difference between 1st and 2nd class mail.
Lets not let this government and their two muppets running us ruin this fantastic public service

Well said - AND how about prioritizing the QUALITY of service to outstrip the competition by doing the job BETTER rather than necessarily CHEAPER!
Think on this....Cheap is not always the best.....The typical double glazing window companies have for many years said things like..."Get a quote and we'll beat it. We guarantee to do it cheaper!"......So.....they all undercut each other and do it CHEAPER, CHEAPER, CHEAPER,.....then......GO BUST!!!!
Here endeth the Quality verses Price seminar!

one for you....
Get rid of one word - FLEXIBILITY - we all have enough work every day to see us through our work day. Farting around with 15 mins here and 15 mins there will bring nothing but hassle and arguments. Most posties have no problem with going over a few minutes to complete their delivery and like wise management should realise that sometime we may make a few minutes to our advantage. I think that the deal would be acceptable if this word - FLEXIBILITY - was removed.

I can't see any office, like ours, that is already on a 4-day week / 10-hour day giving over to Royal Mail our free overtime, unless our walks are reduced.
I've been wondering though, about this yet to be agreed deal, as it intimates, or hints to the possibility of creating a 4-day week across the board. If the walks stay as they are, then I guess they may well make savings through the collapsing of walks?

We posties do things differently, but we still get shot at!

Abandon 'collegue shares' as they will lead to more corners being cut and the quality of delivery to suffer.
Customers are endlessly complaing to me when i go on a new walk about miss-deliveries. Customer service is the ultimate point of us doing our job and our service will not benifit from a scheme which encourages us to work faster and faster to make savings. Faster working equals reduced accuracy and cutting corners.
Instead issue a simple pay rise.
