I seem to remember someone suggesting a system whereby we (The Posties) could all pool our Shareholders Votes. We'd then be able to have a block vote at AGMs. Never heard anymore of it, but I think it's something that should be tried. No idea how our Votes would compare to the BIG Pension Funds that hold Millions of shares?rambo1 wrote: How about us all using our shareholders vote at the next AGM to say what we think about Ms Greene's wages and pension?

Her pay is hardly an irrelevance. It's an utter disgrace that the directors are not voluntarily taking a substantial hit on their pensions and (I would say) giving themselves a healthy pay cut if the company finances are indeed so parlous going forwards as they say. Sure, directors seldom if ever do this, but it would be a small gesture towards improving goodwill if they did.Tman wrote:Haven't we got more pressing issues than worrying about her remuneration package?
If she resigned tomorrow the next CEO would be either just as bad, or worse.
Her pay is an irrelevance, move on.

Don't we hold between us circa 10% ?Dorset Plodder wrote:I seem to remember someone suggesting a system whereby we (The Posties) could all pool our Shareholders Votes. The maximum share holding was 10% at best lots have sold since or left the business so would put it about 7.5% to 8% that still hold shares so it's a no go on that front! What we need is a vision we can all believe in do we want free market capitalism with it's gains for the very few or a more controlled market which will benefit us all including the NHS and all the emergency services and the workers of our nation!rambo1 wrote:How about us all using our shareholders vote at the next AGM to say what we think about Ms Greene's wages and pension?k979aaa wrote:It's hell of a loss for all the hard work we all put in over the years and what would the figures be if we had the final salary scheme back. But it is good to see good old Moya is not losing out with £200,000 in her pot every year you all would be lucky to put that amount away in your life time. what a corrupt and disingenuous employer we now all work for and pay their pensions at the expense of our's thieving bastards springs to mind but vote and vote YES!

General election within 6 months being touted. Vote Labour and they renationalise RM. Problem solved. We own 100% again.k979aaa wrote:The maximum share holding was 10% at best lots have sold since or left the business so would put it about 7.5% to 8% that still hold shares so it's a no go on that front! Even were there to be an election within six months, and even if the Dear One was to win it, they (the new government) don't have the money or the will to renationalise RM, and even if they did, "we" wouldn't own 100%, and it still wouldn't be some sort of workers' Utopia in RM.
That's an awful lot of "ifs" to pin your hopes on.
Do the Lotto instead...the chances are higher.

Until the fabled illustrations actually turned up I figured it was just a tactic from RM to make people hold off filling in their ballot long enough to impact turnout.norm wrote:So it's a bit misleading to say wait for your illustration, when a large number of DC scheme people would never get one ..

I voted anyway as we needed a strong negotiating position.
Got my illustration this week and I stand to lose £4,000 a year, I'm fuming as I planned my life on leaving in 10 years time to a confortable pension.

Well my 76 votes 'Against' didn't go very far but I have the personal satisfaction of having voted....
Just wonder why the City Suits didn't seem to vote 'For' Peter Long in such great numbers as they did Moya Greene (92.02 percent compared to 99.38). I've never
heard his name mentioned in the current unrest, but I appreciate Chairman is pretty much a figurehead rather than day to day control. What does he actually do?
