Probably stating the obvious, but beware of mouthing off and naming names after a few beers in the pub too. Again heard a story of a Guvnor finding something out from a pinny-wearing chum about what a postie had said during a night out.

More you think about it we do get spied on a lot

I'd have thought that the main worry for the RM board is mounting pressure from major shareholders as the share price continues to fall.

they identified me and i had to end up changing my username luckily the post they did not like was from someone quoting me which i pointed out ... because i think they were for sacking me ... i proved it via the text they photo copied with my post ... i looked up the thread with my mobile phone and proved it was not my post the offending message was after i was quoted ..... they are spying on this forum regularly ... now i no longer work for Royal Mail i can say basically what i want within board rules

OK. Wasn't being thick, but thought there might be a possibility of spying on IP addresses - that sort of thing.

I know that RM do monitor Youtube and Facebook. A few years ago some 600 drivers were conduct coded for some Youtube clips, while a Guvnor was slapped over his Facebook cover photo showing him worse for wear with a bottle of beer in his hand. Seems a bit harsh as I can think of one large UK company with a big drinking culture that let's it's staff get away with murder on Facebook - pics of company piss-ups, female workers posting semi-naked selfies etc etc.

Yes, and I've known trouble with posting on Facebook a seemingly innocent photograph of relaxing while still wearing Royal Mail uniform.
As has already been suggested we should all be very careful and treat this great company with the respect it deserves .

the only thing that makes Royal Mail great is the postmen and women who sort and deliver the mail at the best of their abilities ... management are only in it for themselves i will always be 100% behind the membership

Godric you could not have worded it better and its about time RM realised how hard a posties job is and that they were treated with the respect and appreciation they deserve.They should also remember that without the posties those at the top would not have a job!!!!!

that is basically it our boys are the human face of the company and without them their is no Royal Mail ... in my 27 years with the company my proudest moment was representing my office for 4 years as unit rep .. i did my best to represent my colleagues ... did i make mistakes along the way yes i made a couple i'm only human after all ... and for the s***ws looking in ... you are killing this proud institution

Its about time that the management of Royal Mail understands that no one wants industrial action,that we ALL work for the same company for the same reasons,,money,
we ALL want the company to succeed,as it provides each and everyone of us with a decent standard of living,
Everyone knows that the managers are only acting on instructions from the top,trying to divide the workforce,but they must understand that without the foot soldiers,the company would sink like the Titanic.
The management should join ranks with the CWU and fight the board as one united front because,rest assured,,the next onslaught from the board will be targeting the managers.

Have been hearing this for years, but it never happens and they always come up smelling of roses.

I've never understood why CWU allow their members to become acting Guvnors who then crap over the rest of us from a great height
