GRS wrote:How come when they announced the original new pension scheme (a year or so ago) we received a personal illustration but this time all we have is a generic one. This leaflet we have just received is nothing more than a leaflet you would get inside a Sunday newspaper for the likes of Aviva trying to entice you into a savings scheme and telling you what you might get if the dice lands your way up. Surely by law they would have to provide something more than this if they are taking your money and investing it.
It does say on page 3 that the info in this latest booklet is a summary and 'more details will be provided for these new sections of the plan before 1 April 2018.'

There is also this: https://www.myroyalmail.com/pensions/rm-pension-plan" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which has been available to view for over 2 months.

Have a look what a London logistics driver doing lates of nights is on and it's all pensionable.
But using it as an example in a pension leaflet when the majority neither work in London, work in Logistics or have pensionable overtime pay Is unhelpful, disingenuous and unfair for Royal Mail to do and frankly members listing that they do earn this amount and it's pensionable when they are in a minority, although factual, isn't helping anyone except Royal Mail.

Royal Mail should use the average basic wage of a FTimer for reference, and that's about 17-21K depending on when they joined.
Agree with you tbt was just answering the question no one earns that money
