I'm 3 months in on a 27.5 hrs contract and enjoying the job. Can I buy leave for next year 2018-19 and if so any idea roughly how much it will cost me a week?

You can buy up to 6 weeks leave as long as it is in by January (IIRC), I don't remember the exact cost per week (£20 ish comes to mind!, but ask your workmates). However I must add that you are not guaranteed that you'll get the time off!

I agree, but if you want a particular week off, then THAT is at the behest of the DOM.

You get 4.5 weeks a year standard so you can buy 1.5 weeks on top, work out your wages per year then average out 1.5 weeks and you have the answer

I'm on 20 hours a week and it costs me £6.71 per week. You have to apply by the end of February. Once you've applied it stays in place, so you don't need to apply every year.

Quick question regarding this. I am currently buying an extra 1.5 weeks this year to take me up to 6 weeks, do i have to renew this every year or will this agreement continue into next year and beyond unless i told them to stop taking the deductions from my wages and go back to 4.5? any info would be appreciated thanks.

You don't need to renew it. It just runs on.blue90 wrote:Quick question regarding this. If I remember correctly I did it in the January after starting the previous April.97gaz wrote:I was under the impression that you couldn't buy up until you had a years service.

There is but I just told my manager at the time and he did it via PSP. The bookroom may be able to do it, or have the form to hand anyway.

Buying Leave
Hi can someone clarify if I have to be working a year before I can buy leave? Because that's what I've just been told by my manager. Anyone have an email for HR?
Thanks
