Don't worry i opened it first. Wanted a laugh to myself when reading it, which in turn turned to a evil laugh when ripping it upSpedley wrote:Yes, be careful. Came home to two identical propaganda postcards and the A4 letter.

Received my latest A4 propaganda today..Interestingly on the reverse side of it Moya clearly states that 'before CWU started talking about strikes, your shares were worth £4.75'!
However upon checking the London Stock Exchange, the last time shares were anything near to that price was on 7th December 2016 @ £4.73! Hmmm.. yet more economy of truth form our trusted leader perhaps?

I think the share price is a a bit of a bubble. If you are in the FTSE 100 you get more trade and a higher price and the reverse is true if get close to the bottom. The drop was inevitable but I believe the cause was 'the city' believing RM's bollocks about competition and pensions etc which could have an impact on dividends.

Letter regarding pension defined contribution changes when I got home today...
But then full of "vote no" propaganda towards the end.

On the plus side, I think it is having the opposite effect now.
Even those in smaller offices who have little exposure to the Union must be getting suspicious now and asking questions. Anyone who was sat on the fence is probably thinking they are going to have to take a side. Anyone who is a YES voter is talking far more to their colleagues and spreading the word because RM are pushing them into it.
A month or two ago I guessed it would be a 67% YES vote but I'm thinking over 80%, maybe over 90% now.

Yes Spedley,
The "'Yes' percentage ?" poll launched on 6th August ended up at 88% "yes" and 12% "no".
The "How did you vote ?" poll launched yesterday is running at 94% "yes" and 4% "no".
If that proves anything it's that Royal Mail's near daily propaganda mailings treating us as if we were all born yesterday and seen as little short of repeated lies have done a spectacular job in galvanising support for the CWU's Four Pillars.
I don't much like sporting metaphors but I've never seen an own goal that matches the one just done by Moya's communications team.

My only saying of this is the uninformed part time staff and the very fact the whole business is for the good of them.Lounge Lizard wrote:Yes Spedley,

^^^ As above posts...you just have to laugh at the irony of it all. Talk of "shooting ourselves in the foot" could never have been more true. Not by the postal workers though but by The RM Propaganda squad. All these short sighted, know all, give it the big one, greedy, loathsome, insidious overpaid buffoons have done is turned yet even more of the workforce against them! They really are a bunch of complete morons. They must think the average postal worker is thick if they think they are going to vote no so they can work until 6 or 7pm every Saturday and get lumbered with the worst deal I've ever been offered in 31 years of working for Royal Mail

Just because ours is basically an unskilled doesn't mean we're all thick as two short planks.
Many who have held responsible jobs move to Royal Mail later on in their working lives just to take things easier mentally if not physically.
I'm sure well paid professionals are in charge of RM's communications team, or propaganda team as it's inevitably now being seen as, but it's as if they've just kept sending out the first thing that comes into their heads without a thought as to how it will be received or if it will be believed.

The real fight is battling the gig economy. There needs to be more pressure on the government to clamp down on zero hour contracts provided by our competitors. The business model of companies such as Yodel should not even be legal. The only way our jobs and rights will be protected is if our competitors who thrive off using self employed workers are hit with newer and tougher employment legislation.
Let's get a petition to government in place and protest at Westminster. This is where I think our efforts would be well-placed...that's just my opinion though.

We've always said, the biggest recruit for the CWU is Royal Mail and their shenanigans!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Hah! The tories are the architects of this gig-economy. They've never valued the working class, we are just a tool that keeps the economy turning, while they reap the rewards and skew everything in their favour. The act of privatising all our countries assets has so far just been one big money grab, name one privatised company that is actually better and serves the interest of the consumer/public.Interested-seeker wrote:The real fight is battling the gig economy.
