Of course CWU HQ have got the weekend off.
Why else after months of negotiations and on the eve of ballot would Royal Mail put this out at 6pm on a Friday evening.
A very cynical move indeed :no no

This offer is a joke, the immediate £375 is less than a 2% rise for 2017-18, when the inflation rate is much closer to 3% (and some items have increased much more than that, such as food, I've noticed ~20% on a lot of food since last summer). :left:

And while potentially we might get a 3.5% increase for 2018-19, ~£650, depending upon how the productivity figures are bodged we may only end up with 1.25%... A whole ~£235! :left:

Whoopee do! :chuckle

And at this point, I for one don't know which of RM's proposals from discussions with the CWU executive have to be agreed (such as later starts/finishes, unpaid overtime for completing delivery regardless of workload, covering the deliveries of other in mini-groups etc.)... For potentially a whole ~£605 extra until April 1019! :left:

If this was a serious strike preventing offer, in my opinion it should have been guaranteeing at least £1200 and possibly more, depending upon which of RM's proposals come hand-in-hand with the pay rise and where things stand on a move towards a 35-hour week.

They are trying to slyly make our jobs worth less with this offer, to appease the shareholders, increase profit margins further than the recent ~£700 million (IIRC) and increase the bonuses paid to higher management. :speak to the hand

It's a no-brainer... Still vote yes! :thumbup

A regular message on RMTV boasts that RM pay more into pension fund than to shareholders, this is exactly what they are hoping to reverse, yet they still maintain this as a badge of merit!

The New Pay Offer

Lump sump of £375 payable immediately on agreement. Consolidated into base pay from April 2018.

I'm a little confused at the Consolidated into base pay?

Either way it's well below inflation.

They can ram this insulting pay offer. Also, bit odd they're only just now putting this on the table when talks have been going on for months. Rattled much?

Me too. I'm thinking that it means we get 1.5% pay rise in April 2018 plus at least 1.25% making 2.75%.
But all this is irrelevant if pension & the covering for people's absence is not resolved
This ain't no baseball game, you get only one chance and you blew it.

It means the % rise won't be included in your wages until after April next year. The £375 pro rata is your total pay rise from 1st April 2017 - 31st March 2018 upfront.

Can't really call it a rise though can we, since it's still well below inflation.

Edit: FYI - Inflation just now is around 2.9% and is expected to rise to 3% by october. Royal Mail are offering us a 1.65% rise in the form of a lump sum which would mean next year in addition to the cut we WILL receive you would also have to subtract the 1.65% from this year on top of that as it won't be added to your salary as it's paid as a bonus.

So it's still pretty much cut cut cut for us.

There you have it, missing Moyà offers us a 2 year pay cut (inflation hovering around 3%) and she seriously expects me to vote no.
:chuckle :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle
And in return I lose 10's of 1000's off my pension, work will be 11 to 7 ish on delivery, no more overtime in our "owned deliveries" and longer delivery on the street.

Well if your listening Royal Mail, here's my answer to you now.

:thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown

I'm voting YES and if you don't get yourself down to the talks and negotiate properly then it's the picket line for me

Yes WIPGH, it's a measurement to be very very wary of, roughly speaking its a BSI equivalent of approx 200% & therefore completely unrealistic & unattainable.

Can't believe the temerity of RM to write & print this latest shite!

our entire unit is voting yes.

no later starts, no covering the posty who has 6 months sick every 1-2 years , no covering duties when they are on holliday, no working for free, no working in the dark, no more outdoor work, no annihilation of overtime......
no skimping on the pension, no more parttimers the ratio in many offices i have been to now is around a 50/50 split , how much more can they squeeze out of us ...
