Just might affect yes vote though too many posties always go for a lump sum.. still a YES for strike for me

Royal Mail will now be using this offer as their propaganda to encourage those stupid enough to vote no , to be fair it's a good move from them but most of us understand the real issues are pensions and pipeline.

Indeed they are,but the issue remains,you don't get owt for nowt,what are we giving up,in return , look at the D2D payment we used to get, this week I had 7 of the damned things,which we used to be paid individually for, now with double prep that makes it very time consuming. We should accept the 1.5% but remain in negotiations regarding the rest of the 4 pillars. Let the ballot continue. Vote Yes!

Don't work like that sadly, rm will say pay rise taken off table if there's industrial action, they won't let union cherry pick so it's agree a deal on everything or nothing .

Without clarity on what the £375 (no doubt pro rata for part timers) and 1.25-3.5% productivity bonus is being set against, it's pretty meaningless...

9-5 working hours?
Covering all deliveries in our little groups, with no overtime paid?
Pension reforms for full-time as they stand?
Keeping 39 hour week for full timers rather than heading towards 35 hours?
etc.

What about a payrise being backdated to April 2017?

We should never accept a lump sum over a % pay rise, as the extra money from a pay rise, attracts more money in the following years pay rise and so on.
5 years of a lump sum will see your pay stay the same.
5 years of say a 2% pay rise will see the amount of money gained from the pay rise get larger each year.
The offer is still poor and under this proposal, there's still no movement on pensions. I'm still loosing £7000 a year on that.
Why are Royal Mail going over the heads of the CWU with these changes. We pay the CWU to negotiate for us and expect Royal Mail to negotiate with them.
I'm still voting YES.

Yes European law. Terry mentioned it in one of his videos that it was one of the main things the CWU wanted sorted in this pay deal.

How about the lower proposed rate of pay for new starters until they've completed 4 years? All the extra unfairness that that would bring about doesn't bear thinking about. Is this still something they're trying to do?

But yeah, I'm another one more interested in getting more contracted hours than a pay rise.
