I don't think a pay rise will make all what's in the garden rosey when you read what they have got in store for delivery in the next few yearskrussel wrote:I think the top brass in RM are completely out of touch with the people out on the street. Its like "you should be very grateful" that we gave you a PDA. Thats a bit like saying to a shop worker "we gave you a till".
How is that supposed to motivate me not to strike when ive been due a pay rise for 5 months.

Yes, just about all of my fellow employees, I've had enough of 'colleagues', are intelligent enough to realise that but apparently "the top brass in RM are completely out of touch" to the extent that they don't realise how each extra message they send out irritates us just that bit more such that the "yes" vote can only gragually increase day by day.

More scaremongering I'm afraid. Its clear what Royal Mail's priorities are and it certainly isn't us - its bigger and bolder investments in automation which will mean fewer jobs anyway
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

How long will it be before they bash the 'we are out of the FTSE100' because of all this unrest, round our heads?

I think someone turned the machine off and went home early to watch a match, a bit like getting the 2nd wave of mech early on a saturday, they go home early and it don't come sequencedLooks like the whole system went down around 11.00 http://downdetector.co.uk/problems/roya" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... royal-mail
Thats when it hit my PDA as well.

Today's propaganda message is sounding more desperate than usual. We've had a chemist and a solicitor now who's taking bets on what industry they're going to fabricate a quote from tomorrow?

That's more likely when they've not got enough staff to run the machinesHarryPoorer wrote:a bit like getting the 2nd wave of mech early on a saturday, they go home early and it don't come sequenced

Another load of bollacks today. Something on the lines of, we care about the community
. Plus the usual tripe of no fight to pick, best job lets keep it this way.

They keep banging on about the best jobs, yes they're right, that why we're going on strike to stop the bar stewards taking it away from us.

perhaps a 'merchant banker' ?Crown_jewel wrote:Today's propaganda message is sounding more desperate than usual. We've had a chemist and a solicitor now who's taking bets on what industry they're going to fabricate a quote from tomorrow?
I think I'd wet myself if I saw that.
There seems to more than an element of 'cut and pasting' going on with the messages. They are making me more resolute than ever to support the Union even though I have only 6-7 months left working for RM. That and the increasingly desperate postcards with the 'No Fight to Pick', 'Best Jobs' etc etc mantra.

When did Royal Mail ever care about the community?? Oh yes, maybe years ago when we gave the public a service and it wasn't all about shareholders profit like it is now.

Well today was the final straw. I've been undecided for a while about how I'll vote, if there's a ballot. But, after reading about that solicitor, it will be, a unanimous NO vote. Now, how does it go, best jobs, best t and c's, best pay, no fight to pick, industrial action hurts us/me. Yep, they've certainly got my vote, I don't bite the hand that feeds.
