Mail Not Being Cleared

We are routinely failing to clear customers mail daily.
Is this routinely happening across the country at this quiet time and Summer lapsing and RM informing us of decreasing traffic volumes?

Maybe not routinely but far more often than we have in the past , this appears to be the case because
management believe that packets ..oops sorry.. parcels are king, as far as they are concerned we should
be renamed Royal mail Parcels .Mail can mysteriously disappear from the sorting tables and then somehow
reappear some 16-17 hours later for sorting.Mail is most definately not the priority nowadays. :hmmmm

Yes we have same thing in Bristol. Must be once a fortnight lates fails followed by nights then earlies. But nearly every night must be one thousand items left over, mostly letters. Used to be very important that every first class item went, but now it seems no one is bothered that some is left behind. The managers are keeping it to themselves about this new way of working. The plan seems to be we can leave some first class now as long as we save some money, and if we've sent it to the wrong place at least we got it out of the building somewhere.

We have been told to report failures to our Union reps to pass up CWU chain to challenge failures as some managers are reporting we have Cleared All The Mail !!!!!!
Strange that me and colleagues face conduct code and sack if wilfully delay mail.
Then again always has been different standards for us and managers.
Managers keep bonuses and job, whilst we lose pay and overtime and they wonder why we are pssd off.

Our mail centre the same. We fail to clear large letters and Letters most nights lapsed duties on nights at a all time high. We have had a number of full timers leave over the last 2 years due to illness, sack or moving to different office none of these duties are been filled managers continue to do OPG duties all thru the shift, pressstream mail treated as a second class service and DSA just push back to do when ever.Managers just fiddle figures to hide these failures but staff are not blind and they wonder why morale is so low.
First and second class will go its only a matter a time just a 2-3 day service for all mail we can all see where its all going.winding down a once great service. As they say last one out please turn the lights out. :wave

Yes, you and I face conduct code and sack if we wilfully delay the mail but managers face conduct code and sack if they claim they have cleared all the mail when they haven't.

But who does deal with Managers lying about clearances?

They are dealt with if a higher manager visits a 'cleared' office and finds it not 'cleared' and/or if backlogs of mail are reported by someone to a higher authority. :thumbup
Yes, they will get away with lying week after week but it might catch up with them eventually. :no no :wave

Great Yarmouth is so bad that some rounds do not get completed and mail is being constantly returned undelivered for far too long... Morale is at an all time low... a complete shambles... If only the local public really knew what was going on... poor and bad management is not helping...

I’m led to believe that OFCOM have got involved with mail not being delivered at Chippenham Office. This has been happening for weeks and weeks.....

The major issues at Great Yarmouth is the fact that some deliveries are unachievable once you walk out of the office... Not employing enough people and lack of care in the amount of mail undelivered by management makes a mockery of delivery targets... Many refuse now to work over and the situation is now ridiculous... As Christmas comes the pressure will become laughable as more gets returned or is never taken out to start with... A crazy situation and most are sick of it all...
