back to legacy payments why the f@@@ should someone get a payment for a job they used to do phg driving allowance etc and there is new staff now doing the same job and get nothing ie retirements or evrs in the office should stop all them payments and give us all a decent pay rise for the job we all do together and best to our abilities and I no there is posties on here who would agree with me and not the ones who get it all me arse legacy payment bad enough trying to get an hour off them some times

How would the newer posties feel if the deal this time included removing the delivery supplement as part of new deal but they were to keep it as a legacy payment, you may vote to accept this now, only to be told in a few years time that the payment will be removed.

Past pay deals were often only accepted because the payment protections offered were a sweetener designed not to alienate the current staff but still reduce the wage bill in the long term.

They have said they would not take the legacy payments.

But in the blurb I got today it says they are still offering to buy out the legacy payments?

It depends if you're a taker or a giver.

What they have said is that legacy payments are "contractual" and cannot be taken without agreement. Which could mean that those with legacy payments may have those payments traded off for other benefits or less onerous ones. I hope the CWU are not planning to trade my legacy payments and lump them in with the final agreement.

Of course they are, it's the nature of things.
Every few years RM has a "clean up" and all the little over-hangs from previous pay deals and either assimilated or removed. Some would still be getting "cycle cleaning allowance" and other such pittances otherwise.

I see that Royal Mails plan of divide and conquer is working on you!
The CWU are trying to get all new starters on equal pay and pensions. it's not the fault of the people who are getting legacy payments for this inequality.
