Hi After applying on 4/7/17 for a 30 hour permanent postman/driving duties job I have had no feedback so today I sent an email to myapplication@royalmail.com and within 1 hour I had a reply which says "thank you for applying for the role unfortunately on this particular occasion your application has not been successful. we appreciate that this may be disappointing for you however it may be that your skills are more suited to one of our other roles" what do I make of this reply, did I do something wrong on the online test etc or is this just a way they have of saying no, im so disappointed with this outcome..
thanks everyone in advance for any ideas.
kev.

Never chase up an application with HR let them deal with it when they get round to it! You will soon come to learn everything takes a absolute age with Royal Mail.
I have heard your story many of times. My colleagues son got the unsuccessful Email literally 1 hour after emailing HR for an update. Done another application which took 6-7 weeks to hear back from RM this time with an invite for interview.
maybe I am cynical from working for RM so long but they probably get pissed off in HR with people not following the recruitment process and emailing them without permission and hit you with an unsuccessful to brighten up their shitty life and feel powerful.
My two cents.
