WE NEED A UNION MEETING BEFORE TICKING BALLOT PAPERS TO PUT THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE...I'M ALREADY FED UP WITH THOSE BLOODY PLASMA PROPAGANDA RM BIASED SCREENS!!!goingpostal wrote:i don't agree with the deal at all but the sad truth of the matter he is probably right, that it will be accepted and it will be like that bloody way forward everyone moaned about that, but it's in and everyone work's around it and to their advantage most of the time, most will just see the money aspect of the deal and nothing else
hope i'm wrong but i can see it going through, and whilst we are on the subject why haven't we heard anything from the union about a ballot timetable, we have had nothing at our office no communication from the branch, not a thing

I hate to say this but i agree with IWWIWW Fellow Worker wrote:Well said Sarge. The thing to remember is Royal Mail do not employ honourable people as managers. If they were honourable it is doubtful they would consider becoming managers in the first place. This is just another 'agreement' which they will use to bully the newer, weaker and otherwise vulnerable members of staff. The Sarge wrote:Exactly right TBT. Flexible working in principle is, or can be a good thing. However, this 'tool' in the hands of RM will sadly become a 'weapon'. I have seen nothing in RM to convince me that a potentially good thing will EVER be used in a manner to benefit employees. This is also the thin end of the wedge - 30 mins will soon become 2 hours 'to meet the needs of the business'. Watch this space....TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Spot on which why I am voting NO. flexibility will only affect those people who are fools to themselves, the headless chicken brigade. my biggest worry from the outset of the dispute was d2d payments and the pension and we have now been assured that whatever the out come on these two we will be balloted separatley on them, so it is a little easier if you take time to scrutinise the whole agreement word for word, the problem being, when have RM ever stuck to an agreement

Very true words spoken, my perception of managment within RM is corruption from top to bottom.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Spot on which why I am voting NO. New recruits are bullied into taking out extra walks because managers are to lazy to muck in, posties are encouraged to use their own cars because its too much hassle for managers to organise bags to be dropped off.
Management definitley want their cake and eat it.
These local agreements in weak offices will give them a licence to do as they please, new recruits will be shafted even more.
How these managers can be rewarded with huge bonuses is beyond me, until :cfo :lfo are f****d off i cannot see things getting any better.

just because a manager may misuse an agreement doesnt mean that the agreement is at faultSpot on which why I am voting NO. they misuse the attendance procedure conduct code and the bullying and harassment procedures
yet what would we do without those agreements

WE HAVE FOLLOWED THE PEC ALL ALONG, WHY DO YOU IGNORE THERE JUDGEMENT NOW. WE WERE NEVER GOING TO BE HAPPY BUT THIS IS THE BEST WE ARE GOING TO GET,SO LET IT WORK FOR US,NOT JUST SLAG IT OFF BECAUSE THAT DOESNT ACHIEVE ANYTHING. WE ALL KNOW THIS IS GOING TO BE ACCEPTED AND IT IS NOW TIME TO MAKE THE DEAL WORK FOR YOU.
5.4% FROM 1ST OCTOBER = £17.54 PER WEEK
£175 PAYMENT.
THIS AFTER A BALLOT SHOULD BE IN OUR PAY PACKETS BEFORE XMAS.
DO YOU HONESTLY THINK OUR MEMBERS ARE GONNA TURN IT DOWN,WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE BOYS AND GIRLS.
30 MINUTES FLEXIBILITY PER DAY. DO YOUR WALKS AS YOU SHOULD DO AND YOU WILL GO TO YOUR TIME EVERYDAY,IF YOU GO OVER BY 30 MINUTES BANK IT AND USE THE EXTRA TIME YOU HAVE WORKED WHEN YOU WANT IT,USE IT TO YOUR ADVANTAGE.
THE PAY RISE,AINT IT ENOUGH FOR YOU,WHAT WOULD YOU BE HAPPY WITH 10% , BE REALISTIC.
ROYAL MAIL TRIED TO KILL OFF OUR UNION AND WE STOOD UP TO THEM AND BEAT THEM. LETS DO OUR JOBS PROPERLY AND GET NEGOTIATED SETTLEMENTS OVER THE COMING MONTHS FOR OUR MEMBERS. KEEP UP THE FIGHT, DONT BURY YOUR HEADS IN THE SAND THATS WHAT THEY WANT.
First they Hayes Ward and PEC have not got the best deal they could for us if they had a pair and used the advantage we as members gave them we could have got a proper deal.
We have not followed PEC they were there to represent OUR interests not RMs they have failed us again!
Why do you think we were never going to be happy? All Mr Ward and Mr Hayes had to do was remove strings and get us a pay rise as they said at the outset of this dispute, are we just to lie down and take a kicking whenever a bully decides we should and shrug our shoulders?
The £175 cash pro rata was ours that RM held back from us for last years savings it was not RMs to give or the CWUs to except as part of this deal.
5.4 over two years or 2.7 per year is a pay cut, have any of your bills been cut or have they been increased? Because all of mine have all gone up by at least inflation or 4.5% per year.
Our fellow union members will except it if we lay down and play dead but if we explain how bad it is then we may just give RM and the PEC a run for their money.
The flexibility is all one way go and try to ask any manager if you can finish half an hour early and watch how fast you get laughed out of the office with the cap you doffed thrown out after you.
I think your right about the way RM have tried to kill off the union and they still might if we as members allow this charter of defeatism to get through, the real fight is just beginning and burying heads is not an option that any sane member can afford. Oh and an inflation sized increase would have been nice.

Disaster with RM management
like everything else with RM it'll be handled badly , also give RM a inch & they'll take a mile .We've had all this nonsense in 2003 with the new attendance procedure , phones ringing very late at night thanks to RM managers being put under pressure from above and trying to impress their stupidvisors .Good Reps will be suspended /sacked or weak/useless ones sidelined .gunner wrote:just because a manager may misuse an agreement doesnt mean that the agreement is at faultSpot on which why I am voting NO. Oh dear you really have fallen for the Royal Mail propoganda machine bullsh*t . . . . . . . . there is no way on earth they will let you use time you have banked when you wish to use it, just think, we would all just go over our time every day monday to friday then say "oh dear you owe me time so I'm taking saturday off" . . . . . . Royal Mail will tell YOU when to take this time and it will be when it's convenient to THEM . . . . DO YOU REALLY THINK THIS DEAL IS IN TO HELP YOU OUT (all in capitals as that's what you seem to understand)
Together we stand, divided we fall

bull
Giving the management flexible rules is like issuing them with a loaded gun. They will abuse them to the limit. I'm fed up with profit sharing schemes and all the other bull they come up with. All I want is a normal payrise..... I dont give a rats ass about phantom shares and all the other schemes they come up with. I also fail to see why I should work harder to cover absenteeism when I am already working to time.
The agreement we need is a basic payrise and confirmation that the union and RM bosses will get on to postcomm and get these ridiculous pricing caps for competition removed. The RM would be making a healthy profit without the competitive leeches sucking the company dry and none of the flexible working practices would be necessary. Why should we bust our nuts any more than we are so that the competition can carry on living off our sweat.
Only in this country would such a ridiculous setup be allowed, could you imagine what would happen in any other country in the western world, if someone was told they have to support competition at the risk of going out of business themselves, there would be a riot!
The answer is simple, remove the restriction and very little needs to be changed.....ok the leeches would probably go bust but they have been on the gravy train for long enough!

Yes it will get voted in and nobody in there right mind would back against it. I am one of the 77% and was on the picket line 8 hours a day. All i am saying is that we better be prepared now for the fight ahead in our own units. Dont wait till the deals in, sort out your plans on how to defend our members if managers start bullying and harrassing us, the guidlines are there for everyone and we all abide by the same rules, if not, then follow the procedures in place.barbario wrote:Most people i've spoken to in my mail centre are going to vote No So its not a done deal for Royal mail by any means I hate these roll over and die types.
