Peugeot to deliver electric Partner vans to Royal Mail

Peugeot is to supply 100 Partner L2 Electric vans to the Royal Mail to be used as delivery vehicles across the UK.

The long-wheelbase versions of the light van will go into service in December 2017, once Royal Mail has installed charging stations at its delivery offices.

Peugeot claimed it won the order after the postal service carried out extensive trials of the Partner Electric.

Paul Gatti, Royal Mail Fleet Director, said: “Our research has shown that electric vans are an excellent operational fit with our business and we are delighted to be ordering such a large volume to use in our daily operations. This is good news for our customers and the towns and cities which we serve. It also means we are on the front foot for future changes in emissions legislation.”

The Partner L2 Electric, which has an official range of 106 miles, offers a 3.7m3 load capacity and a payload of 552kg.

The Partner L2 Electric was launched in February and this is the first major fleet order for the van.

Royal Mail is to buy 100 electric vans for postal workers to use on their delivery rounds.

The Peugeot Partner Electric vehicles will be based in delivery offices across the UK from December, with charging stations installed at some sites.

I hope they not like the new all singing and dancing new pdas , f***ing s**t , and I hope they hold there charge for at least 7 hrs a day for deliverys. lol , what a joke this company is for wasting money ,

someone won't hook it up properly and it won't charge up etc. or the trimble will run the batteries flat!

I can see us all driving eletric vans in under 5 years time. The vast majority of trips we make are well under 100 miles, so the business is ideally suited, will save them a fortune in fuel costs/maintenance as well.

For offices which use another location for parking some of their vans, a shed load of very long extensions leads will be needed!

Not "in under 5 years time" as vans are in use for about eight years. .

I thought they were buying petrol vans , after some idiot bought all those diesel vans,which are no good for our type of useage. About right for this company. However,unintended consequences:

Well lets hope the batteries are better than the doors or side windows half the fleet in our office of the road because off piss poor build quality more French s**t
