Dear Colleagues

Branches and Representatives will be aware that in order to support the deployment of new PDA’s in PFW a Terms Of Reference was recently communicated (LTB 385/17 refers).

The department has now been informed that Royal Mail Specialist Services (Relay) will also be receiving their new devices imminently and as such the attached TOR, which is in line with that achieved in PFW, has been concluded with the business and endorsed by the Postal Executive.

Initial pilot activity will take place in order to ensure that all operational issues are addressed prior to full deployment, which will commence at the following RMSS depots from the 24th July 2017*:



Gateshead
Bristol
* Date subject to final confirmation

Colleagues will note that the CWU will be involved in all aspects of the Initial Deployment Plan and provision is also made in relation to future deployment, training, H&S and review activity.

In addition protections for our members in relation to the use of the new technology have also been included in the agreement.
