Hi,

I've had a search through the forum looking for info regarding the reference Angard gives when you leave but there's one thing I'm still not sure about.

I stopped taking shifts around February because of my mental health but I never officially left until May. I'm wondering what the reference Angard gives will show to any potential employers. Will it show my last shift was in February or will it just give a start date and end date of my employment? I'm just not sure how much detail it goes into.

Thanks

'Guessing' it will be like ours, start/finish dates and why you left, very basic.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

My previous employer would only say why you left if you were dismissed and were convicted in Court of a criminal offence related to employment with them.

A colleague worked for a major bank for >42years and their reference stated "...... worked for us from 7 October 1968 until 30 June 2010."

Employers were left to guess the rest!

Thanks for the reply.

I don't believe they do give info on why the person left. Not according to what several people have said on here (they copied exactly what the reference said and pasted it into their comment).

They just say he/she worked here from X to Y and no further information can be given because they work in royal mail offices, not angard offices.

I'm just not sure what 'Y' is. Is it the last day worked (February) or the last day employed by them (May)?
