Are we all ready for a National Strike?
Most of the selfish tossers in my DO would probably walk through the picket line, even come in early to do so.

It worked in an office somewhere in the Midlands, I can't quite recall, TBT posted a link to it last time. I remember the chap posting his success on here, they had RM on their knees, within days ,so if you rolled it out nationally, I don't see why it can't work. They can't get managers to cover everything ,otherwise why are they needed. Everyone's a winner!fishtank wrote:It's not an option because it's not an option.Dexydog wrote:Add on,
c. I would support an overtime ban.
Only 2 options therefore I would vote not to strike so this is fundamentally flawed.
Can't believe this is not the first option, things would soon collapse big style.
A national overtime ban would impact unfairly on part-time staff, be impossible to enforce/monitor and last about 30 seconds.

The pile of shite propaganda about How lucky we all are From Moira in the Last Courier, and her basically saying any hint of Industrial Aciton would mean RM Board withdrawing all agreements and treating us like dogs ( or even worse treated dogs ) Made my blood boil last week.
RM Board are relying on the restrictions of the T.U.L,C.R.A legislation and banking on the fact that anyone who joined after 2008 will consider themselves not to be affected by the Pensions Closure to divide and Conquer the Workforce.
If the CWU Balloted for industrial action now , they wouldn't get the support they needed ( especially from post 2008 members ). Area / Local reps should be banging the drum on this and we should be making it clear to RM board that we wont be bullied into a Race to the Bottom on Terms and conditions just so they can pay Fat dividends to their mates in the City.
As stated the Runners/ Early starters for no pay/ Those who prep D2D at home have just given RM a bloody big stick to beat us with. People need to realise that a Union is about Unity! and where there is Unity there is Strength!!!!!

Well said. Why would anyone take d2ds home , start early & not use a trolley ? Are these people looking to make themselves redundant ? Do the job to spec and protect all of our jobsmagicw wrote:The pile of shite propaganda about How lucky we all are From Moira in the Last Courier, and her basically saying any hint of Industrial Aciton would mean RM Board withdrawing all agreements and treating us like dogs ( or even worse treated dogs ) Made my blood boil last week.

I hate to agree wth you !Professor Chaos wrote:Most of the selfish tossers in my DO would probably walk through the picket line, even come in early to do so.
There are far to many brainless, self centred, short sighted, gullible, devious back stabbers at many/most DOs to listen or believe the best road or action associated with a United stance WILL win the day.
The bigger problem for the CWU is that RM KNOW they have that large body of spineless reptiles at hand and our own colleagues are our worst enemies, in times where unity is really all that is truly required.
You know who they are.......... We all know who they are".........., Royal Mail also know who the are, gutless arse lickers.

Yes it would bring RM to its knees but people would slip back into working overtime, even if its 15 minutes and it cannot be monitored, so an all out is the only thing that will work.rubberbond wrote: It worked in an office somewhere in the Midlands, I can't quite recall, TBT posted a link to it last time. Industrial action would achieve nothing whatsoever other than to undermine the confidence of our customers in the Royal Mail brand, which in turn could lead to loss of business revenue and ultimately loss of jobs. Strikes belong in the 1970s not in 2017.Phantom wrote:Are we all ready for the fight of a life time against this Tory run privatised company that basically wants to f**k you over and take everything away or are you just going bend over and take it up the ass?
What RM want to do to its workforce is an absolute disgrace and they won't be happy until the USO has gone, till all indoor working is eliminated, all overtime is absorbed and your pension is made worthless.
If you are starting before your time, running around, not taking breaks then you are a fool and the time you are saving RM are coming for it. Stop and think motherfuckers, do or die!
If you want to change things for the better in Royal Mail then work to rule and refuse all overtime. Do the job properly, use the correct delivery methods, take your paid breaks and do not start early. If everyone adopts this approach the company will very quickly be forced to increase contractual hours or face being unable to meet its USO obligations.

Sorry SOB & others who are thinking the same..I don't see that working!..RM are already not meeting the USO through daily failures nationwide & seem happy to just pay the fines!
They are already currently choosing to 'streamline' mails & will probably resort to doing so again albeit on an industrial scale come any national IA, thus negating the whole underlying purpose of such a strike!

TBT, POSTMAN,
Might it be worth letting Moya, and the CWU, know the quite decisive 86% to 14% vote so far, and not on a low turnout, on this ?

We've been seeing this coming for a while now. We knew 2018 would be a massive year
I don't see a choice for us not to go out can't rely on overtime bans or working to rule to many selfish people out there to do that.
When we have a work place coach finishing a hour early everyday and me struggling to get a parking space when I start on time. You know IA is the only way to get results.

But those same people won't support an all-out strike either. Too many P/Ters, single mums and agency foreigners for a strike to be solid, which RM are only too well aware of."Nickvilla20I don't see a choice for us not to go out can't rely on overtime bans or working to rule to many selfish people out there to do that.
Anything less than a fully committed strike will see RM wait for the strike to slowly crumble, and the workforce then having to face changes by direct action.
"Come back in and sign a new contract of employment or consider yourself dismissed".
The worst of all worlds.

Problem with strike action: virtually every gripe people have would be solved if everybody did as they were supposed to: start on time, finish on time, take breaks, use the trolleys, did park and loop as you're meant to ect ect. We'd all go over virtually every single day and Royal Mail would be forced to change things. People won't though, virtually the only person at my office that works to rule is the union rep.

Voting to strike does not mean we will strike it just gives the union the power to get a decent deal. We need a big yes vote any non voters will be used against us so every one who cares about the job should vote to strike to protect our jobs, make no mistake when and if comes it is a do or die vote for the future of the job as we know it.
