£250 lump sum pro rats works out at 12.3p an hour rise which is 1.116%. Is it really that difficult to cough up another 3.6p to give us a 1.5% rise?
"12.3p an hour rise which is 1.116%" for this year :thumbup and then because it's a lump sum it will be a 12.3p an hour REDUCTION which is 1.116% :thumbdown
Or you could say that a £250 lump sum works out at a 1.23p an hour rise or temporary 0.1116%" for the next ten years. :thumbdown :thumbdown
Lump sums are soon spent and don't pay the regular bills. :arrrghhh

dingo wrote:Mike Newbys letter which is on this site made it clear the Pay Offer is conditional on the following :

Us accepting their Pension proposal.

Us accepting trials on delivery based on start times 2 hours later , the multi bundle option , team working and seasonal viarations with no cut offs.

Also we would have to accept all legacy payments going , monthly pay , sick leave not being paid for first 3 days , VR payments reduced and changed to the IR framework. additionally every unit would have to increase their Weighted Items per Gross hour by a minuimn of 3% each of the 3 years.

Only than will they give you a one off non pensionable lump sum of £250 pro rata with a 30 minute reduction in the working week in the 3rd quarter of the year.

In year 2 providing every office has improved their office by 3% on Weighted items per Gross hour which basically is reducing the hours your office costs than you get 50% of that improvement in a pay rise i.e. 1.5%. Oh you also have to deploy what has been agreed in the Delivery trials.

Year 3 is the same.

Now if you want the union to waste time putting that out to a ballot of the members then I dispair as anyone who would accept that should not be in the union. In terms of Comms well I have seen lots of comms and all unit Reps are getting an update so they can hold gate meetings.

Now as someone who has been on strike a lot during the summer it is a lot better and hurts Royal Mail more when the traffic kicks back in around September hence why the strategy is too ballot if we have not got an agreement during August.
Hi Dingo

Thanks for the updates. Can I ask where us Parcelforce members of the union come into this. Will we be included in and voting on this deal as well?

Cheers

Not much point in you seeing lots of comms dingo.
Maybe it's just me but it doesn't take a genius to work out why comms sent out to branches aren't reaching the members. Same old problem and the same lack of interest from HQ in actually fixing it, that's what happens when you have bottom up organisations the middle men think they are untouchable. HQ needs to reach out and slap some of these branches.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

with the impending shitestorm that's coming, you would think the union would have notified EVERY single member of the 'gravity' of whats going to happen if they don't vote yes for I/A

as was pointed out, branches should make sure this stuff goes out to all DO's and PF workplaces for that matter. Suppose i'm lucky really as i know our branch does, the blockage is the local rep who does what they want when they deem it worthy, fortunately we have other reps who keep on at him to make sure it happens.

for me this is a twofold the pension and the vote. Whilst HQ have talked of the pension they should be pushing the want of the union to get everyone on THE SAME pension. If anyone saw the pension presentation by Hillary Salt hopefully you would have been as impressed as me with the work done and the WinRS (Wage in Retirement Scheme) scheme as it's known. The abridged version is that the scheme is valued annually which means the scheme may never be in surplus so no RM pension holiday, RM no likey. RM continue to contribute 17%, RM no likey they only want 10%. The scheme, in a live situation over a 20 year period, outperformed our final salary scheme with discretionary bonuses to the tune of approx £1500, without bonuses about £1000 less than our final salary scheme so the figures break down at about £8500 per year WinRS with bonus, nearly £7000 final salary and just under £6000 WinRS without bonuses. Now if you play those numbers against RM's preferred option then in todays market, top end pension contributions after 20 years could get you and annuity paying out nearly £3000 per year, or bottom end contributions paying out approx £1700 per year. So you decide, would you rather £8500 a year or £1700. Honestly, it really is that simple, even the WinRS without bonuses pay nearly twice RM's top end offer. The union want us all to vote, either for or against but we must vote to show they either have our support or to show they are barking up the wrong tree.

Yes i have broken down the presentation from Hillary Salt and First Actuaries but its out there go and have a look. I know what our union want for us and i know what RM think we're worth and i know who i'm supporting.
Confused... You won't be, after the next episode of. SOAP
