Should I join the Union?

Post by Glp28357 »

It's now nearly 8 weeks since I started working as a postman at Royal Mail and during that time, I have had no contact at all from anyone about joining the CWU. Is there any point in joining the Union and if so, how do I find out who to contact?

Just ask the rep, I'm sure they'll be glad to have you on board.

Short answer, yes join the union. Strength in numbers.

How do I find out who the rep is? That was kind of the point I was making - I would have expected the rep to make contact with me, as a new starter.

Un f***ing believable!
Ask anyone in the office, and tell the rep when you eventually find him/her that POSTMAN on RMC think's he/she's a twat!
If you find the workplace coach tell that twat as well!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Hi there, I joined the union too. I have no idea who my rep is either! I have been working for 2 months.
