anybody at Cardiff trying to phone in and get the call disconnected as soon as it connects . and whats happened to the hours , just looked at my online payslips and from January till now only got 65 hours in 6 months, compared to the same time 2 years ago hours are down over 60% already complained twice and just get fobbed off , basically been told they don't give a fig if they lose long time staff, time we take the matter above the unions head as they are doing nothing , mass complaint to ACAS looks to be the only way to get things sorted , any one else in the same boat let me know if we don't stand our ground 1 shift a month is about the best we are going to get fight or lose itsup to you

Unfortunately for you that's the sad reality of the way RM management work. Why use you when they can pay a new starter working on a cheaper rate. You being more experienced at the job isn't considered. If I'm not mistaken, Royal Mail pay you X per hour, but they also have to pay Y per hour on top of that to your agency. Essentially meaning you probably cost more to use than offering existing staff O/T to do the same job. Keep an eye out for an actual Royal Mail posting elsewhere maybe? :thumbup

It's depressing.

I'm at GATWICK RMC and I'm now luck to be offered ONE shift every 10 days, at most, since I passed 12 weeks and went on to AWR.

RM own so Angard and Reed Employment provide the infrastructure.

I understood that it was a fixed-fee contract, not a 'per employee per shift' arrangement.

It's a very wasteful and demoralising way to run staff

add that statement to any sector, employment type and job that Royal Mail offer and its pretty much an accurate description for how they treat all off "our people". Sticks in my throat that saying does, it's meaningless drivel unless they actually start doing something to improve morale across the business.

Acas wont and can't do anything other than give advice/information, Angard know this. They are also banking on no one taking them to an Employment Tribunal as this now has to be paid for by the complainant.
However if you are on a low income (which most are with angard) you can claim part or full fees for the Tribunal .
But what you need is evidence, as your word is not enough.
Yes we all know angard are constantly recruiting and giving new starts most of the shifts. Docking for T-Breaks for which RM are paid , Shorter T-Breaks than RM staff , cancellations of shifts at the last minute sometimes when angard workers arrive at the Mail Center.
The list is endless.
But you must have proof of this. :thumbup
