Hi guys
So I'm in my second week & im surviving :-)
I'm finding it really hard on my feet/ankles/calves but I know it will get easier. Well I bloody hope so!!
I'm enjoying it so far & have had a really good trainer who's lovely so I'm guessing that has really helped. My manager & the posies that I've met all seem nice too....So far!
My trainer done the rounds with me all last week, sometimes letting me do roads on my own & sometimes shadowing me. I've picked it up really well & becUse of people calling in sick this week, I was put out on my own yesterday & then my trainer came & helped me finish off my duty once he had done his.
I must admit I found it abit lonely this week without him so I took my headphones with me today which made a difference. My days off are on rotation so that's good. Really pleased about that.
So in a nut shell I'm loving the job & getting on well but my feet/ankles/calves are the killers :-(((( My feet get soooo hot & feel like they're throbbing :-((
Any tips welcome.

Invest in a pair of Skechers (or any other good trainers with memory foam insoles), with laces, one size bigger than your feet because you need shoe space when your feet & ankles are going to swollen, buy them after work, when your feet are swollen already and don`t rush, make sure they are comfortable.
Wear running socks (you can buy them from Sports direct), put your feet in warm water when you get home and massage them with ibuprofen cream, also put your feet high on a chair/pillow when watching tv etc, it helps.
And take it easy, as a new comer your manager has allocated funds to pay your overtime
Don`t forget to book your overtime daily or next morning (tell your manager what time did you finished work).
Good luck :)

Well done for getting through the first week
I'm still waiting for my start date so thanks for sharing your pain, I might get a few tips before I start
I find Salomon walking shoes are the best for me (I do a fair bit of walking) and I'm hoping they'll ease me in to it without too much difficulty

The only real lasting tip I have is take your time, get the job done right. They expect you to be slower for a few weeks until you build up habits which speed you up, just make sure they are good habits.
Oh, and don't just say yes to everything. If you don't have time then say so, everyone has a life outside RM and so long as you are clear in what you can and can't do then the Line Managers should be able to work around you easy enough.
