Tracking out on van..Tyre bold on the edge

Post by tomtom1dk »

Been asking mangers and putting it in the log book now for weeks to get this Tyre sorted...rally sick of it :arrrghhh .....They just keep coming up with what seems excuses to do nothing about it....i keep getting told because 3/4 of the tyre is ok its fine its not ilegal....the other one is the guy who does the tyeres if of sick and there is no one eles available to come and do it ...They cant phone the RAC to do it because of the cost  ...just all sounds like bullshit to me ...am i within my rights to say i am not driving this van anymore i feel it is unsafe to drive because its driving on the edge of the tyre and tracking is way out and its not safe because of this ...i feel like this is the only thing i have left available to me to get them to get it fixed...i have also pointed out that if im pulled over i could get points and a fine...management just dont seem to give a f**k

If you feel it's dangerous AND there is a chance that you could get points because of it then f***ing hell YES!
It's part of your daily checks and you 'should' have a tyre tread gauge thing at your office as well, if not you can use a 20p coin...
How do you measure TYRE tread?
The 20p Test. A quick and easy way to see if your tyre tread exceed the minimum legal tread depth is to take the 20p test. Simply place a 20p coin into the main tread grooves of your tyre. If the outer band of the 20p coin is obscured when it is inserted, then your tread is above the legal limit.
This thread mentions baldness, looks like there is a fine line if it's at the edge though, weird...

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
