Same here, it isn't uncommon for me to get in at half 9 on a quiet day and be the only van left in the yard. On a busy day we're always last out too. I'm on with another part timer btw. It just doesn't work. Most of the time were not out until half 10, given lapsing and rarely finishing on time. And there's no time for a 10 minute break before we leave, it just pushes us behind 10 mins. I don't mind working past my time as I do claim it as o/t, however were also usually last back and everyone else is long gone.Dexydog wrote:This very issue causes problems in our office.
If you have 2 full timers together, one prepping, one on stack.
Off stack at 7.30 so both full timers throwing their walks in.
The full timer that has a part time partner coming in at 8.15 is basically throwing that 45 minutes' worth of work on his own.
So one pair of walks is prepped and tied up by break time, out on time.
Other pair on a hiding to nothing and management pretend there isn't an issue.
It isn't fair and needs sorting.

Should'nt be doing any lapsing unless you have spare time on your duty!!!
If it makes you late, then its not lapsing, its overtime, and that should be voluntary, not enforced!!
Start telling them what to do with their lapsing!!!!!!!!!

So what is happening to all the people in your office that can't drive?frank chambers wrote:in our office we are being told that the man and van duties will in future will be one part timer paired with a full timer and all duties only be open to drivers only . Previously one non driver could sign on each duty paired with a driver partner and with a driver floater it worked ok.As these are the 9 day fortnight duties some of the full time non drivers are upset about being denied a choice.

I always have a 10 minute break before I go out and we all finish 20 minutes "early" on a meal break.
