This is a Brexit election.

No matter how many times anyone bang on about Labour vis Tory policies, there will always be that big elephant in the room.

Who decided that it is so ? You ? The Conservatives ? Moses ?

Its about what we decide it to be.

Brexit, for me personally, is almost a peripheral issue. Trade deals are negotiated - agreements are reached, as they need to be by all parties at the table. Its not rocket science.
The big decision has already been made (by us) - there appears to be a lot of attempting to make political capital from what in any case is necessary/inevitable.

The compelling issues for me are social and economic reform, social and economic inclusion, a move away from a private debt based model of growth, a move away from the market in the health and social care sectors, public infrastructure investment, affordable housing, a level educational playing field for all our children, rich or poor. An end to the "gig" economy and insecure low paid zero hours contract based work. A fight back against the onslaught on workers rights and anti union legislation. A just and equitable distribution of this countries wealth, etc etc etc

Its about way more than wether Goldman Sachs relocates to Berlin - sad as that would be.

For Berlin.

You can huff and puff all you like, this election is about who will be negotiating Brexit, the rest of it. Is just a sideshow.

Looks like things have moved on, since the EU started playing hard ball, support for Brexit has gone up from 52% to 68%, only 22% are hard Remainers.

Support for Brexit hasn't gone up, according to one reading of the poll its gone down from 52% to 45%. What's changed is that 23% of the remainers have accepted the result of the referendum and don't think its right to overturn it (me included), hardly a ringing endorsement of Brexit, more of a surrender to the inevitable. Like most polls, anything can be made up from statistics if you present it in the right (or wrong) way.

I personally won't place my vote based on Brexit as not enough has been said by either party for me to make an informed decision, instead, I'll weigh up the pluses and minuses of both manifestos and make my decision then.

I am saying this as I voted Conservative in the 80s and 90s, Liberals in the late 90s, and Labour since. I am drifting left as I grow older (against the flow). Tribal voting and voting on one issue, for me at least, is a recipe for disaster and disengagement, and for me its a wasted vote.

I have made choice, previously I voted Labour, SDLP, Conservatives, LibDems, UKIP and English Democrats.

I can say on this occasion I'm voting Conservatives as I do not have any confidence in Corbyn and Labour, I have seen Diane Abbott performance at the Police Federation conference , not the easiest location for any Home Secretary, Diane Abbott completely lost the conference, she fluffed it, it was embarrassing to watch as one of Federation reps said "it was like watching a car crash and you can't do anything about it"

Running a country and dealing with Brexit is a serious matter and if you can't stay on top of your brief, you going to make a mess of it. You only get one chance to get it right with the electorate and sadly they failed to convince me.

All over people changing their votes
Along with their overcoats.

Trouble is, as the Police Federation are (or seem to be) always at odds with the current Home Secretary she was always going to get a rough ride, but then she was utterly hopeless on recent radio interviews, and she's been dreadful on each and every TV programme for years now. It's every appearance now.
A horrible patronising hypocritical woman and at least as useless as Corbyn, which presumably is one of the main reasons why he gave her the post.
How any average worker could put any faith in these two is just astounding.

I agree. I think Brexit is the overriding issue in this election and for this reason alone, we will see big changes in the political landscape. Conservatives will win seats that have been Labour-held for decades and it will be the Leave voting traditional Labour voters in those seats who turn these areas blue.

My view on Scottish Independance could well be materially affected by the result in next months general election. If a socialist alternative is trounced by the sheeple conservative consensus of England I might well throw the towel in with the UK.

My views on the pyschological deficits of trolls will, however, be completely unaffected by any election result.

Everyone can vote who they want but the biggest tax grabbers will be the Conservative party unless you earn north of £80'000 a year or more where as Labour has said it will NOT raise any taxes upon those who earn less will not pay anything more. Yet the conservatives are attacking the very fabric of society the elder people upon who they take for granted votes and it is they who will pay if MAY gets in with winter fuel allowance abolished and Draconian health plans for the elderly. But now is the time to rid ourself's of the corrupt government of MAY and rejoice in the downfall of the most corrupt leaders in history of this nation god even Adolf Hitler was once elected and she never was!

Woah ! wind back a bit k979aaa, it's a bit strong comparing May to Hitler. You're sounding a bit hysterical there.

I don't think anyone has ever compares Corbyn and Abbott to Stalin or Mao yet.

You'd have thought Corbyn would have been the ideal Labour leader for all Scottish socialists to rally round, laughably they'll probably lose their only seat while the Conservatives could quite conceivably gain 12, at the expense of the SNP :thumbup
