Depends on how good the WPC is and if we still need to train the staff at the end of it as to retained/reserved rights how would you feel if your £30 was cut because WPC was not effective and they axed it would I begrudge your allowance that you planed your future for!rambo1 wrote:Amazing people are still getting driving allowance paid when they aren't doing owt different to those that drive but aren't getting allowance. Ahh, good old driver allowance eh?
Yet more 'different rules for different folk' Royal Mail policy.
Next they'll be paying part timers less money than full timers for the door to doors, even though exactly the same work is being undertaken. And certain folk will be able to take work vans home, effectively gaining free travel to and from work on a daily basis. And seniority takes precedent over superior attendance and disciplinary records....
Oh wait, this is already heavily prevalent.

Nobody gets paid for D2D.
Part timers do not get paid less than full timers for D2D. We all get exactly the same amount - £0.00.
There is a little sticker on the D2D that confirms this - the one that tells you if they are residential only or all addresses.
We all get exactly the same delivery supplement.
It works out at about 61p/hour.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Yes its Pro rata. But its still wrong. Two people getting paid a different amount for the exact same work. Works out at around £400 a year difference.
Delivery supplement is just another term for D2Ds to "dress it up".
The whole D2D agreement was another Union master stroke!!

So you want to be treated exactly the same as full timers, but get paid more per hour because you deliver and prep the same amount of D2Ds as them.PostmanPr@t wrote:Yes its Pro rata. No, the Delivery Supplement is not another term for D2Ds to dress it up, unless you fail to understand the agreement. Royal Mail wanted to stop payment of D2Ds and move it into workload (just as they want to do with Election Material). They did exactly that.
The Union as part of the negotiations came up with the idea of Functional Supplements. RM agreed with that and Deliveries was recognised in getting the largest supplement of all. Also, D2D monies did not match the pay rises, but the supplements do.
Now I voted against the agreement that ended D2D payments as I thought it was the wrong solution, but we lost and we have to accept the current method. People get angry when the supplement is pro-rata, but then your pay is also pro-rata so why should D2Ds be treated any different when it's now part of the workload.

Yes, you should get paid the same amount for prepping and delivering the same D2Ds....sorry "delivery supplements".
It's straight forward enough really.

If it's part of the workload then they should've incorporated them into the hourly rate. As a part timer I'm supposed to have 0 prep time. Yet I still have to find the time somewhere to prep door to doors.

Exactly. I'm also a part timer. For 18 months I prepped and delivered an 800 call delivery, inc D2Ds because no one else would do it.
The full timer on the bunk next door does the same, except he only has 400 calls to worry about on his cushy little delivery.
Yet he gets paid more.
That's fair.
Typical Royal Mail discrimination, A: against part timers, B: against lesser seniority, and C:...well there isn't a C because A and B were so great!

So in the delivery supplement is just for delivering d2ds in our office the payment must be about right, part timers only deliver them on the 3 or 4 days they work and full timers deliver them 5 days a week. And the callers office staff never touch them but get paid the same as a full timer, oh yes because its not payment for doing d2ds. As for the crying about seniority, suck it up i did 23 years ago when it was the basis not just for picking rounds but holidays as well, now that was crapPostmanPr@t wrote:The Postman wrote:If it's part of the workload then they should've incorporated them into the hourly rate. Don't moan about your "inferior" payments and conditions if you run around doing overtime you are the part of the problem.
Part timers are paid the exact same amount per hour for delivery supplements and everything else.
You don't have to find time to prep anything that's the doms problem.

The IWT and the reps weekly meeting with the DOM should take that weeks D2Ds into account. They are part of the workload, time should be allowed to both prep and deliver them.

I'm a part timer spread over 5 working days. So As I mentioned prior, my delivery supplement work is identical.
The payment should not be per hour, it should be for what you deliver.
And why everyone gets this same delivery payment regardless of whether they actually deliver or not (sorting office etc) is beyond me!
Another Union mastercockup.

That sounds like a vote for piece work, one of Royal Mails dreams and one I think they will be aiming for within the next few years. It means the decline in mail risk is put onto us.
If you want paying for what you deliver with D2Ds then you won't be paid when sick, on leave, or like over summer when there are fewer so you get paid less.
It's not a perfect system, but at least you know what your wage will be every week.

Also of course if you want different pay rates for delivery and preparation should double preppers be paid more than IPS sorters, and them more than packet sorters.
Some may see it as unfair but at least with this system, anyone working the same hours, be they part-time plus overtime, or full time without, at least they are getting the paid the same.
