Yeah. We also need to see what results we get for the year, and how much of a dividend they intend to pay out. It's a lot harder to cry poor if you're throwing away a quarter of your profits to shareholders.
As for striking during the summer.... Well, been there, done that. If the CWU wants us to go out in July, I'll go. Based on my experience, though, it just doesn't have the same effect as walking out in the fall. In October, people are thinking about Christmas. In August, they'll hardly notice at all.
i voted no for the last payrise, what was it 1.5% and the managers held out and got 3%?
im not sure but since the price of everything is shooting up my way of life is costing me more and more, i neeed 10-15%% increase not some small change, they can dangle that carrot for those that see the £250 as some quick expendable cash , but think of the long term effects please guys, and this farce of a rise is tied to very detrimental conditions to our work lives.
Please Say No
A wlak out during december should shake things up nicly give us a chance to put some cash aside for that very week.

Agree, but people have bills to pay and there are few jobs around they know this and don't care about senior guys they are trying to piss us off and hope we leave, EVERYONE needs to come in the n time do job properly use trolley try neighbour's and not help partner in van ,only do lapsing if u can in time if not cut off ,until we all start doing job to rule then they we keep wanting more and more
So, RM are hard up, right? So why do we send 'spare' posties to other offices when there is overtime being claimed at the office they are attached to? BTW, what is the longest round trip that anyone has had while being 'loaned' out to another office? Can anyone beat 190 miles?
Just a quick one guys, not too much abuse for HRH, the press will be watching us as always during these times.
Let's not give that scum a story.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
I don't know if I prefer to do 1.refuse the journey as excessive and unacceptable travel or 2. take the paid trip to the office for 10 minutes and watch the doms face when I tell him I gotta leave to get back to my office for my finish time.
As for pay rise I'll see you all at the gates come winter no point discussing stupid offers. Only once execs are ousted by shareholders after national strike action and they become desperate to get us back in to work can negotiations begin.
If only everyone would do the job properly. Guarantee everyday, mail will be bought back and will keep piling on. Saves us losing out money going on strike as we are working what is contracted of us.
Is there any reason why the union can't ask members to work to rule instead of striking?

If people aren't already working to rule they never will, despite how hard the union protest, because generally, people are dumb.
Yeah I get that which is a bit frustrating. I understand a lot of colleagues just don't want confrontation with management over cutting off etc.
I'll be joining the strike when ever but I just feel it will not help much as people will just get on with it like nothings happened and just clear the work when the strike is over. Which although would damage RM for a few days would save money none the less as the work will be cleared by us with threats and bullying by management as usual.

And lino's let them go home before their time and/or pay them ridiculous amounts of O/T for very little work. Most D.O's already have a two tier workforce. Those that do as they please and cut the job up and those that do it correctly and get bullied and harassed for proving duty spans are too long, workloads between duties uneven and managers that haven't got a clue both in D.O.'s and above.
