On a friday I have family committments. I can't go over my duty time now, with these later starts. My duty time now finishes at 14.27. I then go home, have lunch and get changed. Pick my eldest 2 children up from my x-wife which is an hour travelling each way. At 17.30 I then have to take my current wife to work. So don't tell me 9 hours on a friday is a good thing.
finishing @ 4pm or later wipes out the whole benifit of being a postie and getting finished early/sharp
be better getting a 'normal' 9-5er and moaning at the postie for the mail being late ;)

Just think about delivierys in the afternoon when it's summer and the tempreture is 37+ celsius with 16 kg on your back time to join the army it's easier in iraq.!

agree with D2Ds, but the pensions are group wide ie Post Office, Parcel Force etc so that had to be separated so that we can defend it as a solid workforce rather than as separate business.

nah dude simple reason is royal mail know whilst the cwu still have a strike mandate they can use it at any time when its expired it costs the cwu thousands to re ballot us so there reluctant to do it and there is allways the possability like the time before when the ballot went against the cwu therefore whilst we still have the strike mandate we have to sort out all the issues now before it runs out

Well i think most people are, 2.7% a year is a pay cut of about 2% a year. The £175 lump sum is what they should have given us back in April or May for cuts we had already made! Not as a sweetener for a sub standard pay (deal). And how many firms can you name that have half hour flexi written in, because if you can? (and i have to say i cant) I will show you a sh*t firm that does not care about either its work force or customers! If any one is stupid enough to think that 99% of DOMS will not abuse summer staffing to make themselves look good and improve bonus payments they need to see a man in a white coat. And because Billy and Dave and nine members of PEC have shown how spineless they are and given RM all that RM wanted, do you think that the two sh*ts will just turn around and say "Oh never mind we have had our way for two years thanks to Billy and Dave lets give them the D2Ds and a good pension. And as for 2 hours difference between Tuesday and Friday that works out at a 1620 hours finish you want that? when even the local factories finish at lunch time.

Get Christmas out the way and I reakon RM will give us a good old fashioned New Year's shafting with them bleedin leaflets.
By excluding them from the deal, when they decide they aint paying us for them no more, DO staff will be isolated. We wont be able to rely on MC staff for as much support for payments that they dont recieve.
Get it all sorted out now.

my gut feeling is they will continue to pay us for 3 lots but expect us to deliver up to 5. a compromise on this would be for the union to negotiate a higher payment for them as this hasn't increased for donkeys years. now there's a laugh, union and negotiate in the same sentence
just had a mate from sittingbourne call me and say he got 10 lots of D2D this week but they were all inside one envelope marked delivered by royal mail with postage paid . . . . . . this could easily be the way RM want to go with D2D . . . . . we still have to deliver them but because they're inside a postage paid envelope we can't claim any extra . . . . it would be far cheaper for RM to pay some external company to put these leaflets together than to pay us for 10 lots
My round today had D2Ds with delivered by Royal Mail on them but I didn't deliver them. They were 2 or 3 each but not bundled together.

these last 2 weeks we havnt been delivering door to doors,ive seen more leaflet distributers on my delivery then ever,im seeing at least 3 different deliverers on my duty a day..
