Honiton Royal Mail postal workers with Honiton Dementia Action Alliance’s Heather Penwarden, who is also in training to run the fundraising 5K
SOME of the men and women of Honiton Royal Mail Delivery office will be delivering themselves to the Beehive in Dowell Street to take part in the Couch To 5K Run/Walk later this month.
The family event is being organised by Honiton Dementia Action Alliance (DAA) along with LED Leisure and supported by Honiton Running Club and aims to raise awareness that keeping fit can not only improve your mental health but can help reduce your risk of getting dementia later in life.
The 5K run or walk is open to people of all ages and is mainly off road heading through the beautiful countryside of East Devon.

There is a small fee for registration – £5.90 for adults and £3.25 for under 16s.
All profits will go directly to supporting people to live well with dementia in Honiton.
It is also possible to register on the day by going to the LED Leisure stand at the Health and Wellbeing Fair being held at The Beehive from 10am to 4pm.
Honiton DAA chairperson Heather Penwarden said: “The Health and Wellbeing Fair will have many display stands and a programme of short drop-in presentations aimed at promoting and informing you about the whole range of health and wellbeing services on offer in Honiton.
“Represented at the fair will be hospital departments including community teams, MIU, Devon Docs, The League of Friends and Community Mental Health Services along with the surgery patient participation group, TRIP and Hospiscare.
“There will also be a range of other displays from community groups all promoting health and wellbeing.”
