Looks like strike is firmly on the horizon. For all us relative newcomers, who haven't experienced strikes before. How does it work. Are there any rules we must follow. Apart from not working obviously.

Enough of this crap it's obvious now the time for talking is over, they were given a chance and have spat back in our faces let's get things moving before the elections and then if need be xmas, they are taking us all for mugs.
Then let's hope a few heads roll at the top when they realise what a disaster they have caused.
Securing our future - HAH! Should read securing the future for our big investors at your expense.
ALL OUT!!!!

you can always show your support by showing up at the gate with your colleagues on the picket line, and discouraging anyone from crossing it, thereby becoming a scab. you don't HAVE to go on the line of course but if you show your face you may feel better in yourself knowing you are part of the fight. other than that you just stop off work when asked by the union.

Worded to make it sound like we are ungrateful and they are doing us a favour. See you on the picket line, I'll bring the metal dustbin.

Employment status Permanent .... er really ? last I heard nobody was being taken on "Permanent" only ever 3 month rolling contracts so that's a lie

As for the Pension , well yeah I get a pension ive been dam well paying into it for 30 years should I be surprised im getting one ?

And as for Holiday and Sick pay , well yeah that's fairly standard if you have been in a so called Permanent job for a number of years but hey we know what Royal Mail want to do with sick pay in the new proposed agreement don't we eh !!

As for overtime yeah of course there's overtime no bugger can get his duty done and most offices are under staffed who's fault is they eh Moyra !!

What I think is wrong is the eroding of conditions for new entrants. A two-tier workforce will be created and it's a slippery slope from there as the teir on the better terms gradually disappear.

I did not read this brainwashing rubbish .One thing I will say is how much crap we get from royal mail in the post if this was a general election (and we know its coming down to a ballot ) they would be accused of gerrymandering and buying your vote .We are lucky in having this website but I bet I get about 50 letters at least of propaganda a year
12 tory seats are under police investigation for voter manipulation
It really is important that the CWU get their message out .

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Modern day capitalism. Employ the least amount of people you can get away with on the worse pay, terms and conditions you can get away with and get the most amount of work you can out of them even if it's by threats and bullying and harassment. Then pat yourself on the back and award yourself a large pay increase and massive bonus because you've done such a great job in maximising profits. We read stories about companies like Sports Direct and feel disgusted that normal working people can be treated like that, people like Moya Greene read the same stories and think of ways of introducing the same working practices to their company.
