Does this mean I passed the interview, will I be offered the job. What are the pre employment checks ????

Yes you passed the interview.

You might be offered a job.

The usual things are checked, employment history and criminal records.

It's says now in progress, having filled in my 5 year work history, it's changed to pre employment again ????
