it is not us that is eroding the service it is the bosses that are doing that. if you want to travel 20 miles everyday to get to your local sorting office then please do so because that is the way things are going if we let them continue the way they are.disgusted wrote:semacsorter,
i would happily go to my local sorting office to get my local post if it had meant getting it properly. at the end of the day 'if you want something doing properly do it yourself'. i think you lot have proved that.

This isn't about me but if you are interested I have never been work shy, taken fewer days off than I can count on two hands, never been underpaid or unhappy at work. Currently I'm working extra hours apologising on your behalf to customers who are blaming me for their missing deliveries.
I wish this action had cost me as little as its cost you.

only if people like you dont support us and point people in the right direction, as said before it is not the postmen and women that are responsible for the drop in service levels it is the managers.maleorder wrote:Got to go now - all I said at the start of this was that you will lose public support if you go on strike again. I just wonder how they would respond if President Brown fixed prices for their services at 40% below the present level ,then increased the tax on their profits by 25% and forced them to produce goods for any direct competitor at a loss.
They may complain, and then if I was an ignorant fool who knew very little about their enterprises I may accuse them of being lazy workshy morons who must learn to move with the times and tell them to just get out of the trade they have put their backs into.

i dont think 'they' can see it from 'the other side'.
i wish they would at least try a little harder.
Its hard to understand why some people think that striking can ever improve things for the customer? Surely the best thing to do is to work as hard as you can support your company and your customers who might then keep using you?
Sounds awful but I can't imagine there are many of you who are genuinely striking for the good of the service. Human nature just isn't like that sadly.
In the past if I have been unhappy with my pay or conditions I have let the company know and if nothing changed I left - never once regretted it. As far as I'm aware no customers were let down using that process.
I believe I did - I have stated on many occasions on this board that I would accept a pay freeze if Royal Mail removed the strings attached to the so called pay offer, and negotiated the way forward with the Union. (No not the agreement with the same name posties)
Fair point - however what did you do when your employer offered a pay deal that made your take home pay worse in reality (£30 in my case) and worsened your conditions whilst you were working for them, and then refused to negotiate.

Not me , no sireee. I couldn't give a flying feck what the public thinks. ................ I suppose I'd think differently if there was such a thing asmaleorder wrote:I'm not following spin - only stating how I see it - actually a large user who has until now tried to support the service. When you say 'try to get your mind in gear or are you to thick or lazy' isn't too helpful or constructive is it?
Don't you want to hear how your customers feel?
competition, but until then, I couldn't give a damn.

ah disgruntled you have just hit the nail on the head.
'i am not the customer', not in your eyes no, because you feel that you are too important.
i dont recall saying i spent millions£ in postage. not many people or companies, come to that do. i probably used to spend a few £k over the year. used is the word not do.
