Look at all the people in here moaning about people ghosting! It's laughable, these are probably the old timers who drag their feet thinking we are still in the 80s. Just because you are jealous of people earning more money than you through ghosting doesn't mean it is wrong. If I do two duties why shouldn't I be paid for two duties? If somebody else did the duty they would be paid the full hours so why shouldn't I be.

Because the dom in the op's office said it won't happen anymore! If your manager asked you to do 2 deliveries but you'll only get paid till the time you get back you would say no wouldn't you?number one wrote:Look at all the people in here moaning about people ghosting! I know of managers that have been sacked for paying out too much overtime recently, and now with the PDA data there is no way ghost overtime will continue. It makes perfect business sense to pay people the hours they actually work!

There is one guy in our office who is the "go to" guy for managers desperate to cover o/t.
He has the p##s easiest duty in the office.
One day last week with a 1.30PM finish, he tried to book on until, wait for it.... 1.15 the following morning!!!
The dom wouldn't allow it, and instead gave him a day off in lieu.
Anything up to around 10pm is fair game, for which he will get around 8 hours docket, but this time he overstepped the mark.
He was back in the office at 5.30pm, I know because the caller's office saw him.
Management don't put more on his own duty because they know he will get them out of the stink.
But when I'm booking and hour an only getting back a couple of hours before him, it makes my blood boil.

Don't think anyone's against ghost overtime as a one off to get managers out of hole. It's when it's same 2/3 people, day in day out. And has become the norm. That's when people get irked. Especially when you get third degree for booking 20 mins.

WOW!! Any manager authorising ghost overtime needs to be very careful. Two managers suspended in DA postcode for signing off ghost overtime until 10pm...Dexydog wrote:There is one guy in our office who is the "go to" guy for managers desperate to cover o/t.

Isn't that, like, IMPOSSIBLE lol. Maybe he 'finished' in a different time zone, or was it when the clocks changed. Honestly, this company (and our jobs) will be up the creek if this nonsense carries on. Most docket chasers would still do the overtime if, as it should be, they got paid for the hrs they worked.number one wrote:A lad at our office was paid 25hrs in a day once

Isn't the reason that there is lots of overtime because so many people are underperforming? If you owned a large business would you be willing to employ all the people who you work with? I know my answer.

Is the above a wind up? It looks as if my overtime days are finished as there is no way I am going to work over and claim the actual time it tooknumber one wrote:Isn't the reason that there is lots of overtime because so many people are underperforming? We had a guy similar to this and they even had a bigwig director send a nasty email to our DOM because the docket junkie earned more money than he did and he wanted an explanation.Dexydog wrote:There is one guy in our office who is the "go to" guy for managers desperate to cover o/t.
