Wildcat postal strike affects deliveries to Scunthorpe

HUNDREDS of postal workers walked out this morning (Friday, March 24) in a row over alleged bullying.

The unofficial strike action involved 240 Royal Mail workers in Doncaster, affecting today's deliveries to Scunthorpe.

The Communication Workers Union said earlier that the action was unofficial and indefinite, although the workers returned at 2.30pm.

Steve West, an official at the Doncaster and District branch of the CWU, said earlier: "We have walked out because of bullying tactics by management. We have walked and it is indefinite.

"The feeling here is that morale is at an all-time low. It is solid and there are 240 people standing outside the building.

"The next stage is hopefully going to be entering into meaningful negotiations and discussions to stop the bullying."
