Royal Mail Techs?

Post by Alain Prost »

Hi chaps,

I'm going through the recruitment process to become a Royal Mail mechanic.

I have to do a rear brake strip.

Could anyone confirm what vehicle is used for this and will it be drums or discs? Could it be a HGV?

Merci,

Alain.

I think you're the 1st to ask that kind of question.
Pot luck I would think.

Whatever vehicle it is you'll have the workshop manual available, so it really won't be unfathomable to any half-decent mechanic. If you need to gen up before the little test, are you sure you're up to it?

Didn't get through to interview/test stage anyway. I've done plenty of shoe's but never worked on HGV's. Not my concern now anyway, I may try again if it comes up as looks a good job.

Thanks for the replies.

Bonjour,

Bit of a mix up regards my interview. I did get an interview and was successful (tough interview mind).

I have accepted the role and start in a few weeks. What sort of courses and promotion opportunities are available with RM?

Merci,

Alain.

To stay as a postie, none. If you go into the management side, loads.
