English Hertitage. End of Corporate Membership

Not good, and how many postal workers will go out English Heritage sites in the summer not knowing about lost perks. I think we should kept it and added National Trust to the list as well. Penny Pinching gone too far and it need to grow the business to pay for the bills, pensions and wages. if Royal Mail is short of money, then they need to increase DSA prices.

Typical that we had English Heritage Free Access..... Everywhere I wanted to go was National Trust.

I did try our Local English Heritage site BUT it doesn't count if there's a special function on...... so I didn't get in there either! Sod's Law.

Are Royal Mail charging English Heritage more for posting their yearly leaflets and brochures? What other reason could there be??

I don't know the ins and outs of how it works but I have used on occasion. Do RM pay a set donation to English Heritage or do EH bill them everytime someone visits a site?
If it is pay per visit then I can understand RM ending it but if it is a donation with visitation perks I'd rather they kept on. EH is a decent 'charity' and has much in common with RM (not workwise but by public perception - part of our culture). It would be a shame to stop donations just to make small savings.

I expect the more people you employ the greater the cost and with the number RM employ I would guess the cost would be several times that figure (maybe six figures). I expect it has stopped as a cost cutting measure.

English Heritage is discontinuing corporate memberships so our scheme will be ending on 31 March.

This means that colleagues will no longer be granted benefits or free entry to English Heritage sites.

We are looking at possible alternatives.

Corporate development officer, Emily Travis, said: ‘Thank you to Royal Mail staff for all your support in visiting and engaging with our sites over the past few years.

‘Through this partnership, Royal Mail has made an important contribution to the long-term future of the nation's heritage.

‘As we move forward and work towards our goal of financial independence, our focus is on growing our individual membership programme.

‘As such, we are discontinuing corporate memberships. We very much hope Royal Mail employees continue to visit our sites and consider joining as members.’

Oh,I must eat humble pie and say "Sorry RM",I just assumed it was RM getting out of the scheme but it is,as reported, English Heritage who are ending it.

But isn't English Heritage ending it because Royal Mail will no longer pay a modest annual corporate membership fee ?

How wonderful life is. I book a hotel for a sat evening with the aim of going to an English Heritage event in Luton, with the expectation of a discounted entry using Royal Mail's corporate discount scheme. Only to find out today, that indeed today English Heritage have withdrawn Royal Mail's corporate membership (31/3/17). English Heritage are phasing out all corporate memberships this year. So that means I am landed with a £45 entrance fee (family ticket). So please note that English Heritage corporate membership ends today.
