Flexibility

The pay part of this deal, while not good, is probably as good as you are going to get. On the subject of flexibility--I will be voting NO when the ballot comes around because of this issue. When they mention about flexibility in the deal, there are much too many gray areas. I have no objection to working up to my time, in fact i am doing that most of the time now anyway, but i think that management will use the flexible issue as a stick to beat us with, and try to make us feel guilty for not helping out.

i will be voting no and as for flexability, they can do and sy what they want i wont work 1 minute over my time

It is not a question of guilt it is the bullying and harassment i am worried about being loaded up like donkey's before we go out and intimedated to complete without overtime even if we go over our finnish time just wait this is the way it will be mark my word's.

thats just the point, with flexibility you won't really have a time to stick to, saying you won't go 1 min over your time is no use if they just move your time by 30mins anyway . . . . . . . I understand what you mean however, and agree with your principal 100%

Flexibility, flexibility my fookin arse.When sdd was first introduced i was going over my time 15 minutes - 30 minutes regular.

In hindsight im probably owed 6 months of the goodwill i gave the cheating bastards back then.

They can fook off as far as im concerned now.

Your line manager will say you have refused a reasonable request to be flexible and have thus broke a national agreement how do you stand now?. ps not blameing you just useing this post as a scenario.

Yes this is what is gonna happen,and local agreements will be PUT in if there is no compromise.Much like the Exec Act we've had so far.

The pay part is shite as well, 5.4% for 5 months so thats 7/12 's of the year with nothing extra ,that equates to an annual increase of 2.25% : sorry what was the original offer, and how is this an improvement?
Then maybe if we are all really good 1.5% for the next twelve months regardless of inflation. So pay cut this year and a bigger one next year , can't wait for the spin.

It doesnt seem so bad overall this bit at the start seems quite good "Both Royal Mail and CWU are jointly committed to working together to deliver that change by agreement, continuing to protect jobs (in line with our commitments in MTSF) and provide high quality terms and conditions for all employees"

If they try to load you up and make you complete tell them you don't want to work over your time and if they force you just don't come back to the office until 5.00 and tell them they owe you 2.5 hours.

Shouldn't take long at that rate to accumulate a nice little holiday!!
