blown budget

Post by jafferpants »

having cut staff to the bone our dom has just overspent his budget by £250,000 (no it's not a misprint) paying out overtime to get the job done. Dare say promotion will be on the cards with a performance like that :left: :left:

I would prefer overtime today to jam tomorrow, college share is a good idea in principle, but I have been there done that and after 20 years in the Job I know Bosses will always move the goalposts guaranteed.

Actually I am against the colleagueshares in principle. I see it as yet one more move away from Royal Mail as a service and one more step towards being profit orientated rather than service orientated. I still believe that we can provide a profit if our main aim is to provide a service, however I cannot see how it is possible in Royal Mails case to provide a good service when profit is the primary concern.

I probably should have said Colleageshare looked like a good idea on the surface, until you look a bit more at whats behind it, experience has shown that whenever targets are set to trigger payouts, the goalpost is nearly always moved, in fact my office had their Bonus delayed for many months after we did achieve targets, we had to ballot for industrial action to make them pay out, I have never been for it and even less since that incident.

I never trusted the managments to keep their word at all.

Phantom share crap ,create the illusion of meaningful participation ,a sham stake ,get you to screw yourself into the ground then reward you with crumbs off the fat cat table you furnished. Just like fifty fifty incentive balls. You would need a full frontal lobotomy to accept either
