No it aint its time to FIGHT for your job!
:coolr
Not if you are going to find another job it ain't.
If you like being BITCH SLAPPED by them thats up to you but if i was going at the end of the week i would still fight them (RM) until i left the door for the last time ( and i would still come down to them whilst they were on the picket line to show support ) if only for my friends that i have had the HONOUR of standing alongside whilst we stood up against people that want to do us HARM.

:lfo :cfo

:chuckle I don't see anyone BITCH SLAPPING me dude.

In a previous post I stated that until my departure I will support whatever action is deemed necessary. Even if I see little point in fighting for my job, I am quite prepared to fight for the jobs of those who will still be here after i have gone.

Ward and Hayes have given RM the right to say your lazy and if you dont do the extra work we will sack you, not in so many words of course but the DOMs are comming for their bonus and wont let a thing like that stop them from getting that CASH. Just try to tell your lino next year you cant deliver all that EXTRA mail in summer and see how fast your coded! Three STRIKES and you out!

surely though as long as you work to youre time and do youre job according to "their"318,how can they put you through a conduct code...they cant give you a bollocking for working to youre 318 can they?.

if we jump ship we drown, we need to take it over! We are the majority, lets build a rank and file movement to assert control over the union and its bureaucracy. No confidence in the leadership!

I hope it guives the FULL facts about this new agreement and not the shorthand version given by Dave Ward et al on the CWU Website.

The way its written you'd think there was nothing untoward. Yet you really do need to read the whole thing and not this claptrap of watered down "key areas"

The key areas of the agreement include:

PAY

A pay rise of 6.9% over 18 months, coupled with a lump sum of £175 immediately and a further lump sum of £400 linked to local implementation of change.

(The dispute started with Royal Mail offering a pay freeze and then increasing their offer to 2.5%). Whoopee doo and what happened to the back-pay owed!!!

FLEXIBILITY

All flexibility and change will now be directly negotiated with the Union.

Flexibility now to reflect workers aspirations as well as the company’s and be subject to trials’.

No change to working hours without agreement.

All automation to be subject to further agreement with CWU.

The controversial subject of “covering one anotherâ€

Got to page 6 of this topic, all i'm reading is this deal is sh*te and how we should all be out for xmas, well why didn't you all join Liverpool in the first place and then our union might of had more bargaining power, why are you so scared of local agreements? stick together and you'll acheive more.

I've read it twice and I've listened to the comments of my colleagues in my 'DO' and here on this site. The only person that thinks it's a good deal is the Dom in my office.Doesn't say much for the negotiating skills of the union.

i for one will be voting NO but dont harp on about Liverpool please phantomshare, if the whole country had done the job properly from the start RM would have been bought to its knees much sooner and without loss of pay.

yep mines a total w****r but even he said that he was surprised they had signed up to all that.
the CWU may have signed up to it, we haven't voted YES to it yet, I am fed up of how we are always being reactive to RM, we always seemed to be on the back foot and compromising whatever they bring in, it time to mark a Big Red line on severel key issues, Pensions, Jobs and protection of wages, which must not be crossed, don't forget the Pension defcit is not our doing, we paid in for 17 years while RM took a Pension holiday, because there was "Too much money" in it, ;liar it is always better to have too much money for rainy days like now than too little, :no no that is called financial prudence , :so there something Robber brown hasn't crasped, he just Tax you instead, the spare cash went to the Govt who are now obliged to make good the loss.

RM's interpretation (RM news release 22/10/07, http://www.news.royalmailgroup.com/news ... royal_mail) of the "agreement" is very different to the CWU version. That's not encouraging for anybody hoping to "work together to bring about a fresh start in the spirit of the proposed national agreement". Even if you thought that national agreement presented a reasonable basis for settlement, you're not going to get what you thought it promised.

It's exactly what we went on strike NOT to have!!!
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
