It does take the piss but if the item is being re-booked in on the original booked in number at the callers office then the item should have been returned after 18 days after the first 739 was left unless they are requesting it for the next day virtually every time.daveyeff wrote:yes, I've left one EVERY time, and also marked in the box on the reverse, the number of times its been attempted delivery.Bahia Feliz wrote:Do you leave a 739 every time? If yes,Why do they ask for a redelivery if they know they are going to be out that day? (7 attempts in all). specific instructions on it NOT to be delivered to a neighbour. each time I go back they are not in. the DOM says ive to keep on trying. WHY ffs. its lost revenue. they don't think twice about charging someone a quid or whatever for an underpaid item of post, be it a Christmas card or just crap. so why keep trying for redelivery at a loss?

Redelivery times of Special Delivery
Some people do it if they know they're going to miss the RTS deadline. They don't go in to pick it up, and then on the 18th day when it should be returned to sender, suddenly you have to redeliver it.Bahia Feliz wrote:Do you leave a 739 every time? I've had packets where people keep getting them redelivered, and I think they just do it hoping that if they do it enough times, they'll eventually be home at some point, and until then you just have to keep trying to save them going in and picking it up themselves.

Redelivery times of Special Delivery
That's B/S. The clock stops at the first delivery/attenpeted delivery scan. Delivering a special RE-DELIVERY after 1pm will NOT result in a failure!olilew wrote: We got notices up at our office, a redelivered special STILL HAS to be delivered to time.
