any awr staff in same boat as me had 0nly 3 shifts since mid december . getting pissed of with this especially as it seems angard are recruiting for every large mail center up and down the country . checked with ACAS today and although they cannot comment without facts they are of the same opinion as me that between angard and rm they are trying to get rid of all awr staff . if anyone knows that new staff are getting shifts let me know as ACAS are prepared with evidence to take the matter further , and if enough people come forward will look at making a mass case out of it . fines for discrimination are at least £5000 so the more that come forward the more chance of getting things sorted . when you think how many people are registered with angard if only a couple people come forward rm will just laugh at the fine but if a couple of hundred come forward they are going to think twice before they try and mug us of again

I can't see you getting too far with this one as most shifts I've worked even when there are only four or five people in most if not all are normally AWR qualified. I've been getting at least a couple of shifts most weeks although most of them are very last minute so I've been lucky compared to other people on here. It does make a difference if you are able to work at very short notice now that Royal Mail are booking casuals only when they are absolutely sure they need us. If your angard profile shows you are able to work at short notice they will call you first compared to somebody who normally turns down last minute shifts. A mate of mine lost out because he comes to work by bus and often can't get to the MC in time so had to turn shifts down and now he is getting less shifts and not getting called as often.

The managers have been told to cut the use of casuals to save money so some angard staff may also be discriminating against AWR staff but it's not all mail centres.
