How did your office take it

The members think like most that it is crap and that did not take months to work out. The guy in the office today said that the version on the RM intranet site was different from the CWU and in his words "They are not even the same f**** agreement". Has anyone seen it?

we was told last night that Royal Mail version had changes to pensions included.

job any1 we give 5 hours a day no chance of full time,no pension flexi working you need a car and can you come in early for free it helps you finish on time so we dont need 2 pay docket

Cannae believe you guys in the toon do you not know RM have opened up a depot in Livi to divert mail from you its run by some of your scabby managers plus its manned by foreign workers & students .I hear its only open until the Chrissytime ,but mark my words it will be a success ,then it will turn around & bite Edinburgh on the ERSE coz by that time RM will be picking on you guys, trying to get rid of your jobs

i'm a bit confused here, WHAT was sorted out? D2D and pensions should NEVER
have been in a pay negotiations so by seperating them RM give up nothing and the CWU lose a powerful and emotive rallying point. most people I've talked to
want guarantees on the pension NOW, the problem will not go away and we should force the issue to be sorted while we still have the resolve to carry on striking!
We get 5.4% from October and £175, wow that's about the equialent of 2.5% if we'd taken it in April!
RM still got flexi working - something many of us do anyway - how many of us have gone the extra mile to finish a delivery? Only now it's officail that if by some fluke you get an "easy" day they can send you home and force you to come in early the next day - with no added night duty allowance to be paid - the RM are quids in again. No one is going to mention longs and shorts -today I finished an hour late, no suprise that it's my "short " day - the mail was just the same as yesterday - a "long" day!
When the new systems kick in will I be paid O/T, or will the hours I go over be "banked" and if so at what rate, will it be given as time of later? do I get to choose when? I'm still owed time of from accrued bank holidays and I'm still waiting for the boss isn't even sure they owe me! What the hell are annualised hours? No one here knows!
As to the rest it's all dumped on the local rep - poor sod, mine nearly got lynched when he signed us up to late starts and giving up nights after many months fighting to keep them. ( my office has been on late starts and long / short days for months) The big union guns were not happy but there was no support for the rep or us - it was a done deal so get on with it!
This "deal" stinks - RM deliberately engineered this strike and have pulled the plug on the major issues when it became clear we were not going to back down, they and the union bosses have cost us a lot of money and not sorted anything out permanently.

Take this opinion with a pinch of salt guys , HE IS A MANAGER ! Unless he stayed back to speak to early AND backshift , how the hell would anyone know what the Mailcentre " As A Whole" is thinking ? .

The deal has just been re-packaged,
it has all the 'old chestnuts' of covering walks when people are off sick/holidays,total flexilbility that suits RM,spare staff can be moved about to other offices near by[part timers/low seniority?],
this deal is a joke,they think we are all fools and will accept anything,
the Reps much take the time to go through the proposed aggreement bit by bit and explain every part of it to all their members and how it will affect everyone,
most of the members at Dundee East which i have spoken to think the deal stinks,
and my vote will be a definate NO!
Remember 'Starburst' and other stupid ideas from RM,
has Legighton/Crozier ever went out with a heavy bag on their shoulder in the pissing rain or snow/ice? I think not!

I'm not sure which way it'll go at my RDC. I've talked to a lot of my Collegues, and there seem to be about the same number who will be voting yes as voting no.

The ones that still need to be convinced, seem to think that it is the best deal that we will get. But even if they are right (God forbid!), what about future generations?

There are some (but not many) consessions which will protect us to a certain extent, with "Grandfather Rights", but what about the poor sods who will start in the years to come. They will be well and truly shafted.

As I have said in the other Poll. I WILL BE VOTING NO! But I'm sad to say, that at least so far, we can't count on the majority of people at my site voting the same way.

unacceptable to present employees that they will over the next few years
seek alternative work, and be replaced by cheap labour, probably immagrant labour,
unrepresented by a union, and so be free to bully and harrass at will.
These new proposals are the groundwork for the dismantaling of the RM
as we know it.

I hope it is a close ballot if we lose or hugely in favour of no to accepting the s**t deal
