why is angard still advertising for staff

since middle of December had a total of 3 shifts , when you look on angard site to download holiday form, they are advertising for staff in literally every other large office there is hardly any part of the country that they are not trying to get more staff , just wonder if they are trying to drive out all AWR staff . according to rm mail volumes are down and with all the voluntary redundancies but still no shifts there staff must be breaking into a sweet with all the work they have to do now that we used to cover , anyone else in the same boat , the union is useless there only covering there own arses but if they go on strike they expect us not to work , only the brown nosed boys seem to get shifts , must be they are covering for the managers that are on the fiddle , and it does go on especially down south, as there was a manager arrested on his way home on a night shift a little while ago , but that all seems to have been hushed up i wonder why

I agree. Our Mail Centre has more Angard staff than they need - people are going four weeks without a shift - and yet Angard are constantly recruiting and starting new staff. WHY FFS?

The whole Angard system stinks. They are still recruiting at my local mail centre in Chester yet I have not been offered any shifts for 4 weeks now. Stinks.

I find that surprising tbh.
I've had a text for a 6pm-9pm EVERY day for the past 2 weeks (for Chester).

I've only done a few as a have a full time job in the day.

Anagrd's continual advertising is to keep a pool of staff big enough for the rare occasion a large number of casuals are required on one shift. The trouble is when it is quiet then the long term staff get very little because they have to try and keep the new people on the hook in case they are needed.

At my mail centre there were a few people who never got texts for shifts and when somebody queried it with angard it turned out their phone numbers were blocked for receiving texts. They never found out how it happened but if you don't get texts and you know other people do this may be the reason.

Why has no one went to the papers about this mob yet? surely they are up there with sports direct and even then sports direct offer their experienced staff a minimum set of hours? ive been with them 5 years and its the same every year, they dont need more staff yet they hire more staff routinely, its like back in the 30s when all of the dock workers would would be down trying to get a shift yet its the 21st century, they are an absolute disgrace

same at ydc loads of new starters .managers say nothing to do with them ,which is probably correct, but certain days they need trained staff in and only get people who can do the basics .this is not merely point of keeping big pool numbers for "busy period" but its a way of money saving for each site ."summer saving"
got booked for a 5 hr shift last week ,I asked if there was a 8 hr or 10 hr shift ,only to be told they need you in on this shift because your trained.
so the untrained get 8 or 10 and I get 5 .boils my piss.

Yh id rather do the 10hr shift to be honest. To give you an update I haven't seen much new people which is good also the new people don't get any shifts anyway atleast where I work, maybe cause I'm stealing all the shifts lol xD

A totally corrupt organisation. Mail sorting centres have their favourites particularly down in illbred and inbred Devon. Full of nepotistic staff related to each other. Dreadful. They are the ones that get all the shifts despite being the slowest and the dimmest. I had to resign because of this gross inequity and discrimination.

Angard: a totally corrupt and evil organisation. Perverse to the extreme. If you are too intelligent, too fast and efficient you get told to slow down! Utterly perverse and stupid at the Exeter MailCentre. I've now resigned because of the stupidity and unacceptable dimwit culture.
