David Lamont was killed in October near Corley Rocks
A man accused of murdering a Coventry granddad is to stand trial in March.
David Lamont, 50, was discovered in Burrow Hill Lane, Corley Rocks, by a member of the public at 8.30am on Sunday, October 23.
He had suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kamaljit Singh Dhaliwal, 53, of Holland Road, Radford was charged with the murder of the postman.
He pleaded not guilty at a hearing at Warwick Crown Court on Friday and a trial was fixed for Monday, March 27.
Warwickshire Police previously said that it believes that Mr Lamont may have been hit by a vehicle.
A fundraising page was set up following his death, which saw hundreds of pounds raised in memory of Mr Lamont, who was also known by the nickname ‘Monty’.
A statement from Mr Lamont’s family described him as a “father, grandfather, brother, postman, performer and friend to many”.
