After a quiet December compared to last year, I had a few shifts in the first week of this year but nothing since. I am still confused over the 'rule' about how many weeks without work or in between payslips you can go before your security clearance has to be renewed (4 weeks?) or reverting back to the lower pay rate (6 weeks?) The written contract I have had with Angard does not say.

They recently changed the 4 weeks of no contact rule to coincide with the 6 weeks before losing your AWR rate.

All I can suggest is never book holiday until summer or whenever your area's dry spell is because you can book a minimum 4 hours holiday and it will push back your 6 weeks thing by a week. It's pretty annoying, but sometimes you've just gotta buy yourself more time even though you haven't had shifts through no fault of your own.

Our MC has been really quiet since Christmas. We had a few nightshifts in the first couple of weeks but even then we were mainly working on the second class outward which is normally left until the next day. Almost two weeks now without a shift.

Yes its nearly a month for me now. I will just take whatever comes up at the Team Valley, Gateshead (even nightshift) to keep going. If nothing comes up, so be it......
I am wondering if it gets to the last minute, will Angard make an effort to contact me? I like to feel I have given them good service on each shift (and I know the managers do) but it counts for nothing.
