Last year several of us part-timers were frog-marched into canteen and told we had to complete the survey ( was a particularly busy day and we were trying to finish the prep whic had been left for us ). Told to complete it there and then whlst a manager sat there watching us - refused to let us take them away to complete at a more convenient time. They are not going to get thought-out, considered replies by putting us under pressure...

The managers were on a bonus last year to get us to fill them in!

Perhaps it would be a good opportunity for a pension related protest?
Maybe even a dirty protest.

It could well be worse.

Last years survey results were put up 9 months late... Because ( as one Lino told me ' they are terrible and we did not want to put them up')

Of course ; nothing has been addressed and nothing has changed.

Ho hum
Probably be even worse this year, but will Royal Mail take any notice, will things change.....Of course not. A total waste of time and money.

The Pensions consultation is a sham and therefor so is this I will rip my Employee Survey up in front of the managers if they make me fill it in front of them again anywise it will not be going back at all and I urge you all to do the same as it does not cost you anything IT is a form of protest by not being told what to do by RMTV and a manager!

We'll only be told what the good points are, so again only 10% of how wonderful we are.

POSTMAN EDIT:Email below from justsayit which covers the questions we get every year
justsayit email wrote:Completion of the survey is not mandatory although we would highly encourage all employees to take the opportunity to give their view.

As this is a work-related survey, employees have been allocated time at work (during their WTLL) to complete the survey, rather than expecting employees to fill in their survey at home in their own time. This process of completing the surveys at work is standard practice in many companies.

Each survey should have been given out in an envelope as part of a pack. Each pack contained the survey itself and a pre-paid envelope with Ipsos MORI’s address for returning the survey once completed. Ipsos MORI is an independent research company conducting the survey on RMG’s behalf.

All employees can be confident that their answers will be treated in complete confidence. Ipsos MORI promises that surveys will never be linked to an individual. Ipsos MORI is a member of the Market Research Society. As a member, they are bound by its Code of Conduct not to identify individual respondents’ views.

Surveys should not have been handed back to managers without being sealed in the pre-paid/pre-addressed envelope. Managers should collect the sealed packs and return them in bulk via recorded delivery to Ipsos MORI (ideally using the bags that they arrived in). If employees specifically wish to, they can take the survey home and complete it and then return it in the post in the pre-paid and pre-addressed envelope direct to Ipsos MORI.

We ask people to take part in the survey so that they can share their views in a fair and consistent way, we also give people the opportunity to do this in a confidential environment. The survey gives people the chance to say what they want without being concerned about people finding out what they individually said. Also, only by surveying everyone in RMG will we get an overall view of what people think and be able to respond to that at a corporate level.

I hope I have provided some reassurance but please let me know if I can help further.

Kind regards

Jane

I was given this form yesterday by my Manager told I must to fill out before I start my walk.
And that it was mandatory and had handed back by end of day.

Didn't think my Manager would lie to me.

Yet to fill in.

Had ours dished out in the WTLL this morning. DOM said, "There's a Big Push to get these completed this year". Lots of whingeing from the "Runners" who were desperate to get out and start Delivering

RM are obviously very interested in what we have to say this year? :whistle

Someone needs to get this sorted. I felt humiliated and belittled by the stance I took today at my LDO re taking the form home. I am still stressed just thinking about the verbal confrontations... :arrrghhh

I asked my manager today if i could take it home so i could think about the questions and give considered answers. She told me under no circumstances was she allowed to let anybody take one home!!! So i refused to do it and had write "refused" on a sheet a paper against my name.

our manager has taken the envelopes off of us and asking us to fill them in and give them back, then the manager will put them all in one special delivery letter and send them off!
Sounds a bit funny that, almost like they are on the fiddle!

Makes a mockery of the whole exercise. Not to mention the potential for multiple forms to be filled out by one person and then being submitted skewing the results.

If they wanted it to be accurate there should be one unique non-identifiable form sent to each employees address.
